I can't believe that the people in north Corea are not curious or stupid... They know of other countries in which the life is better or worse... Even if this is something like the communism in Europe twenty and something years ago... I feel pretty nostalgic... :-) I was born there.
@SylwiaElzbieta - If you were born there clearly you didn't live there for long or you would know the reason they aren't 'curious or stupid' is because they are ruled by an iron fist and have no contact with the outside world. They are brain-washed from birth to hale the 'Great Leader' and think their country is elite and if they say so otherwise ,they along with their families are thrown in concentration camps.
@tomyklauss Worked in SK as a teacher for 2 years, been to DMZ. Have friends that have visited NK along with spending much time studying it. Sadly there is not much point in going now as once you have seen all the arranged tours as shown on Youtube there is little more you will see in person. When visiting NK you are unable to wonder off anywhere or explore the place or you risk being shot (which actually happened to some other teachers who broke curfew and stayed from the hotel.)
@kamazaleslie The socialist Eastern European countries were completely different from what North Korea is. You didn't get shot unless you broke into military areas. In North Korea you get shot just for not making it back to the hotel in time.

@pim1234 actually, very few north koreans would probably leave. They are all brainwashed to think that the outside world is evil, and worse than the conditions where they live. THEY think they live in the greatest and wealthiest country on earth, and that they're leader is a god. So yeah, probably neither country would empty.
