In her "Plan for Peace," Sanger outlined her strategy for eradication of those she deemed "feebleminded." Among the steps included in her evil scheme were immigration restrictions; compulsory sterilization; segregation to a lifetime of farm work; etc. Birth Control Review, April 1932, p. 107
People should stop judging this counselor assuming she doesn't love her son just because she wishes she hadn't had him at such a young age. When you have kids and love your kids you want to be able to provide for them. Being a young mother herself she knows how difficult it is to do that financially and emotionally when you are so young and haven't even finished school. It's hard enough to support yourself with a minimum wage job, let alone provide a good life for your baby.
The counselor didn't just say she wished she didn't have a child so young...she said that she could do it over again, she would have aborted her son. See 1:44
Well, yeah, if she HAD aborted her son then she wouldn't have had him at such a young age, duh.
p.s. where do people get this idea that abortion is such a bad thing? For the most part, life pretty much sucks. Why would you ever purposely subject another human being to a crappy existence on earth especially if you know they are going to be disadvantaged? Much better to not exist at all than be forced to live in poverty conditions where your parents don't know what the heck they are doing.
Duh?? How old are you, lol? My response wasn't hostile at all, but you seem to like to argue. Educate yourself and stop regurgitating the prochoice nonsense that you learn from Planned Parenthood website. First, if your pregnant, then the baby ALREADY exists- a scientific fact. Second, are you psychic? How do you know that a person is going to be disadvantaged his whole life and live a crappy life? Maybe your life sucks, but don't impose that on anyone else and say that their better off dead.
I wasn't interpreting your response as hostile, I was just pointing out the advantages of elective abortion.
I have never actually seen anything about benefits of abortion on the planned parenthood website, and I doubt their reasoning is similar to mine as they aren't quite as nihilistic about the human race as I am.
It just gets me how these amoral wretch abortion clinics would circumvent the laws regarding sex with minors just to get another patient, ergo, another sale. I can't believe such crap is going on in this nation! At one time, this nation was a very God fearing and very wise(wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord) nation. Now, we have become another Sodom. Just what reasons are left to fight for this nation!? What surprise would it be if brimstone started to rain down upon this nation?
are you for real? or is this a parody of a right wing nut job christian? Please tell me you dont actually believe what you have just posted. Thats pretty creepy.
How callous and cold is this woman? I cannot imagine telling my child, I wish you were a dead, dismembered fetus in a trash can instead of ruining my life. When her kid sees this, that's the message - you're unwanted (and ultimately unloved). Imagine internalizing that message from mommy.
It made me want to cry when the "counseler" (?) said she would do it differently if she had the chance. I think of my two children and how much happiness and laughter they've brought to my life...something a college education could never provide!
the manager says she would not have continued the pregnany if she could do it again. Did this stupid bitch ever think about her kid actually seeing or hearing this one day? How are they going to feel after something like that?
Everyone is different. If someone doesn't want to have baby they shouldn't have to. And they shouldn't be forced by ignorant and bigoted savages called the religious. Period.
Bigoted? I suppose you don't enforce your views of morality on others? Do you think murder should be permitted? Some people might like to murder.
Oh my, that would make you a bigot too.
Actually, just by calling others bigoted, you are making yourself a bigot. You are being intolerant of their opinions as if your own opinions were the absolute truth.
Is it wrong to force others to do something? Says who? Is that not just your opinion? How dare you try to force us to adopt your views.
No. Your wrong. Everyone should have a choice about if they want a baby or not. Period. Its ignorant people like you that have been standing in progresses way for thousands of years.
Your probably anti-gay marriage and evolution too. Please return to the dark ages from which you came. Primate.
Everyone does have a choice. You have a choice whether or not to risk conceiving another human being. There's your choice. Once another human being is involved it's no longer "a choice."
So, I should not be entitled to my opinion because my morality is derived from the Bible instead of my own personal whims? People are only qualified to make judgments on things if believe as you do?
Who's the bigot now?
No worries. We are progressing...right over the blood of our youngest and most defenseless brothers and sisters.
btw...you're obviously the one who believes he/she from a primate, which itself evolved from the goo. You may believe you're a primate, but I'm a product of an Intelligent God.
Evolution is the greatest thing that has ever happened in the 4.5 Billion years of Earths history. You make believe that you are a product of a loving, caring God. It doesn't make it true. Just like I could believe I have a million dollars in my bank account. It doesn't make it true.
If you knew anything about evolution you would change your mind.
Also it is most bigoted of you to shove YOUR primitive moral system down the throats of people today. Any system that limits is morally bankrupt.
Evolution didn't happen. You can make believe that nothing turned into something and then it went from the goo through the zoo to you, but that doesn't make it true.
It is most bigoted of you to tell me what I should and should not do. Who are you to tell me what I should choose to do or not to do?
Well yes it is still a choice. If I use a condom and my girlfriend uses the pill and for some reason we get pregnant, (which we won't) we would get a abortion.
The bible does not say for or against abortion. Also something like 60% of abortions happen without the mother knowing. So by your "logic" your God is the most prolific abortionist of all time.
Also. Believe what you want about evolution it doesn't make it true. You and me and everyone are apes. Evolution happened. Period.
Condoms aren't 100% and neither is the pill. By having sex you have consented to the possibility of pregnancy. Don't want a child, give the child up for adoption. There's your choice.
The Bible is against abortion. Try reading it. Exodus 21:22-25 says that if a man hurts a pregnant woman and her unborn child is hurt, it is an eye for an eye, tooth for tooth.
The Bible says not to murder. Murder would be the malicious killing of a human being. Unless you can prove that the fetus is not human, the Bible is explicitly against abortion.
Bible says not to murder anyone. Except of course: pagans, homosexuals, adulterers, girls who have sex before they are married, people who curse at their parents, people who work on the sabbath, etc. Then it's okay. In fact, God wants those people put to death. We should do right by the bible and start stoning those immoral bastards who have the audacity to go to their job on a weekend.
Try filtering the OT through the NT. I am not a Jew. Christians read the whole Bible. The OT is only half the story. You're missing the very crucial ending.
The Old Law was not that simple and may have even been changed. For example, more ancient versions of the Bible don't say "fear God." They say "love God." So perhaps modern readings of the Old Testament really ought to be read through the lens of the New Testament, where we find a more merciful God.
They are actually called spontaneous abortions (miscarriages). Not the same thing and you know it. People die all the time. That doesn't give you the right to kill people.
God is the giver and taker of life. If you want to use that logic, you also advocate killing born people because God takes their lives too.
Wow! What a blatantly ignorant comment. No one was "there" to see it. Nothing was. Watch the series "The Foundational Falsehood of Creationism". Right here on youtube.
Who am I? I'm someone that is infinitely more smart then you. And it shows. You did graduate high school didn't you?
You will never listen or understand because you don't want to. You will be forever ignorant. I pity you and your kind.
I understand what you believe. Unlike you, I have actually investigated BOTH sides of the debate. Yes, no doubt the evidence can be interpreted to fit within the evolution framework, but so can the biblical creation account and you would know that if you would take the time to research it objectively without your predetermined beliefs.
I will watch the video. As I have several others which are always completely ignorant of what creationists actually believe. But I will watch it and we'll see if it's any better.
"You will never listen or understand because you don't want to." --you do know that some respectable evolutionists admit to doing that exact thing you have just accused me of, right?
Evolutionist Richard Lewontin in The New York Review, January, 1997, page 31:
"We take the side of science in spite of the patent absurdity of some of its constructs, in spite of the failure to fulfill many of its extravagant promises of health and life, in spite of the tolerance of the scientific community for unsubstantiated just-so-stories, because we have a prior commitment, a commitment to materialism...
It is not that the methods and institutions of science somehow compel us to accept a material explanation of the phenomenal world, but, on the contrary, that we are forced by our a priori adherence to material causes to create an apparatus of investigation and a set of concepts that produce material explanations, no matter how mystifying to the uninitiated. Moreover, that materialism is an absolute, for we cannot allow a Divine Foot in the door."
The evidence can also support creation if interpreted into it's framework. Creationists and evolutionists have the same evidence but interpret it differently.
I'll tell you what. Start with the belief that it happened, just like evolutionists start with their presupposition, and then use the evidence to try and prove it. That's the only way you're going to see the creationist side.
You can find out exactly what we believe at creationontheweb. From what I'm seeing from anti-creationists, they don't even know what we really believe.
i can definitely appreciate that you understand how hard it is to understand your perspective. i think the reason many people are anti-creationist is because they DO know what you believe, and they think it's bullshit.
i'm not trying to mock you or anything, but the way you see atheists is the way most christians see creationists...way out there and full of shit.
Well yes everyone should have a choice in all things. If they want a child or not. Whom they choose to love and marry. Things like that.
I am about as far from a bigot as any one human can be. The "morals" of the religious are not such.
Those rules came from a period of blatant human ignorance and no one today should have to be subjected to them. My morals if you wish come from the same place where all other social animals get theirs. Not from a primitive book. Which I have read. ghastly.
And first, animals don't have morals. They kill each other and eat one another. Do you? So I guess it's not wrong to murder. The guy who beheaded the guy on the bus a few weeks ago was not "wrong" for doing that.
You know, our actions always follow our beliefs. If you believe you evolved from an animal, you'll act like one. I find the belief that there is no Right or Wrong quite ghastly myself.
I had so many doomsday predictions when I was pregnant at 16, and I am just about to turn 20 and this is my last year of university. I have NO family support -- other than my son, he is my only family.
I had him at 17. It has being easier than anybody ever predicted...not saying it was easy, life isn't easy, get over it.
More than anything, I think that woman is lyign about having a child at 17. 17 isn't that young at all IMHO. If she's not lying..wtf!?
So true. Life is never easy, but we make it harder by say we cant live it or deal with it. If you tell yourself you cant raise a child or be pregnant, you wont be able to. I was on the street and 17 when I got preg, lol, while on the pill. I turned my life around and am now married with another son. planned parenthood doesnt even talk about adooption, frankly, they seem to just want money. Not whats best for the girl and especaily the child.
My daughter's birth mom got pregnant at 13, was in 8th grade & despite intense pressure from the abortion clinic to abort her "unwanted" "bi-racial, rapist's baby" they insisted was not formed yet at 20 wks, she chose life & adoption. She graduated from high school & is continuing her education currently. She had a childhoodl, has a future, & a LIVING daughter who she is watching grow up loved by her family. We can do better than abortion!!!
This is the mentality...that the value of human life is determined by others. Can you imagine being that woman's 16 yr old daughter? She doesn't hear "choice", she hears "you made my life difficult & I wish I would have killed you when I had the chance." When she says if she could do it again, she would not have continued the pregnancy, she isn't talking "hypothetical", she is talking about the literal death of her actual daughter. The child she has celebrated 16 b-days with would be decomposing
This is really sad. I have two kids, neither of whom were planned, neither of whom I regret having. I didn't get to finish college, and I have friends that got pregnant in high school and I know they would not take it back either. I also know people who have had abortions-those are the only ones who have regrets.
how cruel. I don't know whether to hope her kid sees this or NOT. As a woman who DID get pregnant when I was in college, and I STILL have not had a chance to go back...don't know when i will get the chance. I would NEVER take it back--I love my kids, both were unplanned by me-but not by God. I have good friends who got pregnant DURING high school that would say the SAME THING. On the flip side, I don't know a single woman who has had an abortion and does not regret it. It scars you for life.
I've known women who decided against abortion, and had their babies from unplanned pregnancies. I think they would all agree that it was hard. But I've never known one who said she regretted bringing her baby into the world.
I've also known women who made the opposite choice, and desperately, desperately regretted it.
But this tape is bone-chilling. What an awful, awful thing for a mother to say about her child: "I wish I'd killed you."
what a heart-wrenching thing to say about your own child. Obviously this woman has absolutely no compassion or natural affection. It's evident that she should not be in a position to counsel anyone given the fact that she doesn't even care about her own child. How could she care about other people's children if she doesn't even care about her own? Yet we parents let people like this take our children's futures and very lives in their messed up hands. Pathetic.

What is that song?

what a heart-wrenching thing to say about your own child. Pathetic.
