Also, mate. You should think about doing Art for metal bands. They like this kind of stuff for T-shirts and cover art, and they pay lots... Just look around facebook for bands that are looking for an Artist, then give them a sample and ask them what kinda thing they want done, then eat their souls with your awesome.

I tried to do my first digital art with ArtRage Pro and a mouse and no clue how to use the program.

there are a few programs that you can get to simulate actual painting. And when I say that I mean like blending colors and stuff. Just use google and you will find a bunch of stuff

Corel Painter is an application, that can be used to make digital paintings, but with more realistic painting qualities, ie mixing and blending with paint. Photoshop is more of a digital image editor, however it can still be used for digital painting, yet it doesn't have realistic painting quality like Corel painter.

yeah they give slightly different feels at the end. corel gives a more 'authentic real art' feel, photoshop seems somehow 'cleaner' or whatever. but both are awesome =]
