I generally stay away from comments about the 'good old days' and how music died after 1993 but the thing I find increasingly is that the best stuff is from these old school guys who worked their craft, performed their hearts out, respected the fans and had musical integrity. Roll on 'good old days'
No human being with even a partially functioning brain could dislike this song; therefore we must conclude the 76 'dislikes' are from some truly retarded individuals.
This generation don't even know how to have a good time, back in the day, block party's & house party's having a good time,no fighting, just dancing till the sun came up!!!!!!!
it was 1970 the live in girl friend needed that break from me and said "I'm going south to visit my Mom & Dad in Bradenton Fla just 2 maybe 3 weeks. Ok Babe?" I saw them live at the Michigan State far on a HOT day. They had these Miami Vice like yellow and baige suits on, and 3 ladies playing violin. And they played their butts off for us, and this was their closing song. And yes they played in front of a full house or grandstand, but the heat got to many of them, and they had to leave. Some lady said, I can't leave until I hear them play my song, GOOD TIMES!

@F3FisGoodforYou ; This song was written and produced by Chic members Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards as was We are Family. They're playing bass and lead guitar on both songs also. Most of Sister Sledge's biggest hits were produced and written by the same two guys, as well as Upside Down by Diana Ross. They are simply awesome! When Bernard died in 1996 a part of me died with him he was the absolute bomb bassist, he had his own style. I wear dark shades to this day! Hope this helps....JW
@jwilliams7924 ...Thanks for your interesting explanations... I love to learn more about all those musicians. I'm started to learn bass a few months ago and listening to the bass line of "Good Times" always put a smile on my face... That's what those musicians were all about, bringing happiness !

@TheHeavymetal80 Well no, because a) Rapper's Delight was released in 1979 and b) sampling has been highly restricted under new copyright laws, meaning the majority of hip-hop/rap over the last 3 or 4 years has been non-sampled, which has been much to the detriment of the genre as the only avenue open now to producers is the same equipment and software - which is why quite a lot of the modern end of the genre is similar in sound.
@HaroldRehling It seems sped-up by about a semitone indeed. That's not even a little, but will keep Google's bots from recognizing it as a copyright infringement.
To those who don't know; no it is not the same bassline from Queen's "another one bites the dust; similar but different. This song was first. And yes it is the same bassline used in rapper's delight; this is the song they got it from. In fact, it was quite popular in the clubs to mash up the two songs.
