The idea behind the Libertarian rejection of the DoE is that since its inception, public schools have gotten worse. It intervenes nationally and forces kids to learn the "nationally acceptable" version of events.

Education should be handled locally, even if publicly - it increases the rate of adoption of innovation if nothing else.

Homeschooled children, by the way, consistently outperform publicly educated children in standardized testing.

The Constitution and the Libertarian Party should merge to form the Constitutional Libertarian Party. It's the only way either party will ever get anywhere, in Washington D.C. or in the separate states.

I know they have slightly different positions on certain issues, but so do those within the Republican and Democratic parties- yet they manage to get along and enjoy great success.

I think what he meant to say was that World War I was a major cause of World War II in Europe, as well as the Palestine/Israel conflicts, and to a lesser degree many other Middle Eastern wars. And World War II led to the Cold War, which led to US support for Third World dictators, which led to intense hatred of the United States in many countries, and the Cold War also led to the Taliban and everything that resulted from that. So basically, World War I led to most major wars in the time since.

1) If everybody who believed Lib were to vote Lib, then whichever jerkoff who gets elected will be forced to take the concerns of the Lib party more seriously.

2) If people see the Lib party increase in size, then in the next election they will realize that it is possible for a 3rd party to muscle its way up and they will be more inclined to vote for it because they see that it has promise.

Lol, the most surprising thing was Gravel saying Washington was his favorite president. I swear to god I expected FDR or some other socialist. After watching all this, my view is reaffirmed that Wayne Allyn Root would be the best candidate to be the LP nominee. Barr might be a good vp candidate for him and get him some media exposure, but I certainly hope that Gravel loses big and leaves the LP and goes to the Green Party or some other part that better suits his socialist tendencies.
