boy, if you think that this was scary you should avoid SWISS flights with the Avro RJ100. There you really get some scary sounds...

Actually that's the sound of the motors actuating flaps retraction. You can easily relate to it on the boeing triple seven, where the niose becomes more apparent as the size and weight of the flap unit increases, so does the accompanying niose.
