You can actually go up to the greenhouse and shoot at Hector. Despite the fact that you do have to shoot the water tank to end the game, you'd be missing out on some dialog if you don't go up to the greenhouse first.

at 10 years old I cried my eyes out at the end of this game, it was a truly great ending. and at 16 years old now I tried to run this game on my Windows 7 PC and when it said it wouldn't work I was depressed for days. Love this game to bits.

Still play this game from time to time. I have 2 games I like very much and that is Mafia 1 which had the best action story I have ever played. And this ofcourse which is the best adventure game of all time and for all etirnity.

I may be amongst the few who wouldn't like to see a sequel. It would just ruin this great game. The story ended and it ended exactly as it should have ended. Any new game would just share a title with this one as all the main characters either died or passes on to the next world.

Anyway - hats down to the best adventure game ever made.

Agree, i think they should remake it though, i really enjoyed the game and my Disc is scracthed the first one, i can play it till i change to disc two and have to change it back(why u gotta change disc 2 back to one idk) and it stops =(

Well why don't you just download the game from some tracker? If you own the original CD there should be no problem as you have already paid for the right to use the game. If you live in Europe then it doesn't really matter what is legal :P, but if you live in the US go back to the previous sentence ;).

This game is one of those games which is Lucasarts well-thoughtout products. I love this game so much, the film noir feeling, the mythos of the afterlife, the emotional displays.. everything :) .. it is a gem! .. the only thing i miss is the last tones of the endsong just before the credits start to roll. It seems the song just ends before it is finished ^^

To anyone reading this on a newer PC than a 400Mhz - you can run it fine if you get the patch - at 2mb, it's smaller than this video.

I'm on a dual-core and it ran fine, had a couple of sound issues in Year 1 but they cleared up as soon as I got to Rubacava - although I recommend putting 3D acceleration on in the options.

You should play psychonauts. Its by Tim Schafer who also made grim fandango and day of the tentacle and so on. Its not exactly an adventure game, but it has a great story line and its fun!!!!

if you use software like cpukiller you can slowdown you cpu and get past the crane/Convoyer belt section. Worked for me..

Oh my god, like 8 years and I JUST NOW got the symbolic connection of the band and the "water pool" which links to the figurine band and the ashtray back in the opening cut scene.

Many years ago, and this game is still awesome.

The Sproutguns have bullets that burrow into the bones and break them from within, feeding flowers and destroying the targets.

I remember downloading the demo (via AOL, and it probably took 2 hours) and playing that at least 5 times. I was salivating waiting for this to come out and I got it for Xmas. Boy did Lucas Arts deliver in every aspect...story, presentation, script, music, and perhaps the best voice acting I've ever heard in a game. As much as I'd love a sequel and it will never happen, it's nice that we have this nice little perfect masterpiece we can look back on.

Truly a beautiful masterpiece of the 90's, it is such a shame they don't make game like these anymore, I mean the graphics and everything like that has improved, but it just doesn't have the charm this game once had, I also loved the first song they played during the credits, it's really kind of catchy, Grim Fandango, we salute you.

I just finished it in XP: install the game, install the patch (1.01, google "grim fandango patch" and is in the first result), and the launcher (google "grim fandango launcher" and is in the first result), go to options, deselect "run grim from hard drive", and then select it, and it will ask you to put the cd to copy all the needed files to hard drive. ¡VIVA LA REVOLUCIÓN!
