"It would cause more probably smaller shootings and it probably wouldn't have been able to do anything." Yeah, because throwing paper clips at a crazed gun-man really did the trick. This guy is just scared.
All the critics rail on about irresponsible students carrying guns. They ignore faculty and staff most of whom are extremely responsible but are forbidden to carry and protect themselves and others.
Quit using the word "packing." Criminals "pack heat." Legal CCW holders "carry." I feel very strongly on the 2nd Amendment, CCW, and Campus carry. Please look up my video on this topic.
more guns = more accidental or unnecessary deaths and greater sense of security against the boogeyman, if you're really scared to be on a campus without a gun you're welcome to stay in your safety bunker with the other paranoid guys
@YOYOdaMOOSE Actually states that allow CCWs have seen a drop in crime, and colleges that allow CCWs have had no reported gun related accidents, threats, or thefts. CCW holders don't carry because they are scared, they carry because it is their right to defend themselves.
you can defend yourself with a tazer or pepper stray theres no reason college kids should be walking around with guns in their pockets it is completely pointless and dangerous
@YOYOdaMOOSE I could defend myself with a stapler too but you dont see many people walking around with them. What do you think is more effective, a gun or a stapler? You don't see people walking around with guns either, that's the beauty of a Concealed Carry weapon. Self defense is never pointless sir.
@YOYOdaMOOSE My community college (and most other colleges) dont allow pepper spray or tazers in the classroom either. I will not carry something that I believe won't protect me and my loved ones. I would rather be judged by 12 of my peers than carried by 6 of my friends.
jesus christ what is that fucking huge thing poking from the side of the reporter's neck? I kept staring at that the whole time instead listening. I mean, is it cancer, or just a tumor, or is it like a second head growing?
Why do news channels always give the final word to the person against concealed carry on campus? They are winning at the moment, give the underdog a chance.
This kid doesn't know a damned thing about 'crime'. It's not about a fistfight, it's about crimes such as murder, rape, etc. Just because his girlfriend was murdered does NOT make him an expert in this field, and it's a crying shame that his opinion carries any clout simply because a tragedy befell him and her family. Although it may be speculating, I would wager everything I've got that fewer people would have died had there been guns allowed on campus.
I love the fact that the college kid ends up making an argument supporting concealed carry, and even a drop in the age requirement.
I'm 20. I'm old enough to have defended my country for 2 years, but I will be helpless to defend myself for one more year.
An 18 year old freshman, however, could go and buy a shotgun and high powered rifle and go on an unstoppable killing spree. Even if I could legally carry a handgun, it would be no match for such weapons in the vast majority of situations.
Exactly, having these gun restrictions on campus is just stupid, but then isn't every gun law stupid. It's like they think criminals will follow laws or something.
"I think the shooter would change his tactics" ... yeah, like for example he'd go somewhere where people aren't allowed to carry guns. I support concealed carry EVERYWHERE.
It's interesting that John Woods' common sense shows through at the end. He states in so many words that the criminal would go to a class that he knew people would be unlikely to be carrying.
I have a strong feeling that if people knew that anyone could be packing , that taco jocko dick who thinks he can do whatever he wants to whoever he wants (guys who instagate fights) would probably think twice befor starting shit just for the hell of it ." A well armed society is a polite one"- Robert A. Heinlein. Aside from that i cant get over the fact that almost every "massacre" occures in a gun free zone, i have never herd of mass shootings at a gun show or fireing range.
At IUPUI in Indianapolis, if you're wearing a backpack, you're a target. 2 students were robbed at gunpoint in the past month. It's weird. It's like the criminals had no regard for school policy.

I agree with John. College kids don't need guns, especially not on campus. Who is to say someone won't get drunk and shoot someone at a party in a fit of anger? We'd all be better off without guns anyway.
@beautifulataxia2 statistics prove that your assumption is wrong. utah has allowed guns on campus for a combined total of more than 70 semesters. there hasn't been one instance at all where there was an accident or crime that involved a firearm by a licensed individual. your assumption is based on availability heuristics, which in psychology, is a very innacurate way to make a decsion.
@too408 first day of my biology class last semester, my teacher let us all know she carried a gun,and said that if any of us had our ccw, she would be shooting right along side us if anything ever happend. god i love utah!
An armed society is a polite society. I still think it is amazing how everyone trusts the school cops who have little to no experience. Yet the Combat Vet student can't have the firearm even though he/she has more and better training and experience then the Police that they so blindly trust. Good job SCCC keep up the fight, as a student with my CWP I know I should be able to exercise my rights.
maybe that guy should just never go off campus and out into public anymore because of the potential for CC permit holders shooting people at random...idiot...5 stars
I agree with Mike Guzman. These campus gun bans make it easier for violent criminals to harm innocent people since they don't obey the bans and know the law-abiding citizens on campus won't have guns.

The guys girlfriend gets gunned down and hes playing the statistics card.
Little hint, chap, IF your GF HAD had a gun she might have saved herself.
Its narrowminded people like you who PERPETUATE these killings by keeping INNOCENT people DISARMED.

his argument they would target freshman only classes was lame. they still have to get off campus & wouldnt risk it at all. no cigar for him.
