  • @techniqueisborn stfu your stupid go look at some kung foo vids of something queer

  • Haha that guy had no fucking clue what was happening to him. Bravo is the man.

  • @Wrestlfan1 actually not that many. And a ligament tear, or even bone break in the arm isn't nearly as bad as breaking ur vertebrae. Hard to come back from that one. And its still legal in most No-Gi competitions.

  • isn't this stuff banned in gi comps now? spinal lock and all

  • @yukiism yea unfortunately.. its illegal in most BJJ tournaments.. and personally I have nothing but respect for BJJ, but i think that it is flat out stupid that they would ban a move for being too dangerous.. seriously how many broken arms have happened due to armbar.. How many broken shoulder from shoulder locks..

  • Bravo's first Twister was on Royce Gracie... No joke. It was at the Relson Gracie academy in Hawaii!

  • Thumbs up so you can place it on a chair and use it as a buttplug

  • i found out about eddie because of joe rogan

  • "thumbs up if douchebag mcgee brought you here!!"

  • i was lucky to have been in one of his seminar classes at 10th planet burbank learned some sick ass shit

  • niggers

  • Pull half guard, old school sweep, banana split attempt, sick twister. This video is amazing once you have read 'Jiu Jitsu Unleashed'!!

  • I'm sick of hearing about how eddie's win against Royler was lucky. How many people here have even made it to semi finals of adcc? Luck or not, how many brown belts have submitted Royler? I like his system. It's creative and innovative, takes existing basic moves and refines it further. He never claimed to have invented any of these. They're all existing moves with modifications. And the Twister is a wrestling guillotine. Renamed that tho cuz Bjj already has their own version of a guillotine

  • lol eddie bravo says he invented the twister which is bs ricardo almeida said that move was there before he was born

  • @vegnugun You're a dummy. It's been a wrestling move forever. Eddie Bravo says he LEARNED it in 9th grade when he was wrestling.

  • isnt this the same thing in wrestling were your leg riding someone and then get that arm so you can pin the guy?

  • @tigerninja14 your not trying to pin them your trying to make them tap out

  • look up "best of eddie bravo" if you want to see eddie doing the twister

  • i cant stand seeing that shit in videos

"thumbs up if douchebag mcgee brought you here!!"

so what? you're proud of the fact that you are a follower and a sheep? fuckin a, pursue your own interests, dont just mimic someone else's

  • i love how eddie pulls half guard in most of his fights

  • I remember watching this before the Korean Zombie Sub, and I was watching that fight and was like, "Hey, he can do the twister from -- HOLY CRAP!"

  • robert where are youuuu

  • nice eddie

  • listen to eddie doin bas rutten comentary for his own fights! well done mr. bravo.

  • thumbs up if googling "watching little pussy midget girlymen fighting" brought you here

  • @yahoopl3

And yet they would still break every bone in your body, choke you out, and leave you for dead if you ever fought them...

  • @yahoopl3 don't like don't watch. go find some wwe instead

  • @prebirth91 get your gay porn loving mug outta my face you lil bitch nigga

  • Thumbs up if you didn't need Jitz to know that Eddie gives credit to this moves origin of catch wrestling and that it is the wrestling guillotine

  • good lord. are you guys serious? thumbs up if you didn't need the Korean Zombie to know about eddie bravo and this video...

  • @DroppinKnowledge69 it doesen't make any difference how you got here.

  • @BootyBot lol the 103 thumbs up think so or else you wouldn't be commenting pussy

  • @DroppinKnowledge69 well guess what it doesn't matter how you heard about eddie bravo just that you did. those 103 people are just being elitists if they think it matters. I knew about eddie bravo before too but you don't see me bragging about it like a homo.

  • @BootyBot well guess what...you sound like a little sensitive bitch. you know i'm spot on so don't argue that fact fag

  • @DroppinKnowledge69 lmao ok keyboard warrior

  • @DroppinKnowledge69 you don't need to sound like a snob dude. I knew about Eddie Bravo's sick twister, but the Korean Zombie fight reminded me of it and made me want to look it up again. So yes, I knew about it before the KZ fight, but the KZ fight brought me here.

  • @aroff595 i don't care....

  • @DroppinKnowledge69 You obviously care quite a bit about youtube if you made one of the "give me thumbs up please" comments. Douche.

  • Thats my last name

  • @tomrichugpeltho why does everyone think i am sayn Eddy is stealing this move?? lol i am just sayn what it is.

  • @AlexAbatecola1 yeah he agrees with u, he got it from wrestling. take a look. /watch?v=ugFb11_P8do

  • 2 cunts dislike

  • Is that Eddie or Joe Rogan in the first 5 seconds? lawl

  • TWISTER EDDIE

  • @mustache9000 Like you said youve never practiced JJ and im assuming youve never wrestled either so you have no fucking clue what youre talking about when it comes to technical grappling. JJ isnt a secret anymore everyone knows it and a wrestler with a little bit of submission defense will destroy a well seasoned JJ guy. And for the gay porn part you probably watch a lot of that fagget.

  • @AlexHuizar

*This video features BJJ not JJ

    *There's no "e" in "faggot"

    Don't be that guy...

  • @camcam25 yeah youre right about a how a JJ guy would beat a college wrestler he would submit him in a grappling match, but the point of wrestling isnt to sumbit so they would have no idea on how to defend. Put the two up against each other in a fight and a wrestler would win, wrestling gives you incredible core strength but most of all it gives you ridiculously strong legs witch results in more explosion. JJ is too defensive and you cant dictate where the fight takes place like a wrestler can.

  • @mustache9000 Dde youre an idiot What do you mean wrestlers are just meatheads? its technical just like JJ except there isnt as much stalling. Its more complicated than just punching someone when youre on top, its take many years of wrestling to learn good top control like that. Wrestling takes just as much thought but it takes a stronger mindset and a harder work ethic to be good at it, there is no laid back part at all in wrestling its a constant grind.

  • Like if you ,gasp, actually knew what a twister was before the korean zombie.

  • Im not trying to take naything away from JJ its just that its too defensesive, the takedowns are weak and it doesnt teach you good takedown defense. Most people just pull guard wich doesnt allow you to learn how to take people down or how to defend from takedowns its stupid.

  • @mustache9000 Youre a dumbass, wrestling is harder than JJ. It doesnt just take strength to be good at wrestling you have no fucking clue what you are talking about, JJ its not half as tiring or physically grueling as wrestling is. Wrestlers will always be the best in UFC face it. Wrestling is the best base for MMA. Look at George sotoropilous's last fight he couldnt even take down his opponent and hes a blackbelt lol. Oh and last nights fight too, a black belt vs a wrestler. Look at who won.

  • @AlexHuizar

The best do both. BJJ and wrestling are both needed to be the complete ground fighter. There are examples of BJJ beating wrestling in MMA - MIr vs Lesnar or Silva vs Sonnen(Henderson too) or Chael vs Maia

  • You are right and wrong. NSAC rules really favor takedowns in MMA scoring a lot of points for wrestlers (when it shouldn't always if they can't secure a dominant position). Majority of Brazilian fighters (with jiu-jitsu background) didn't start wrestling early, so most aren't good. The reasons wrestlers are so dominant is because they know enough jiu jitsu to defend themselves from subs. Also the fact that your BJJ 1990 traditional guard isn't going to work today against the top NCAA wrestlers.

  • @AlexHuizar

You can't say one is harder than the other. Well, I suppose you can. But don't take anything away from Jiu-Jitsu. It's a martial art every MMA fighter needs to know, or else you'll be seeing a mirror image of UFC 1 again.

But I also wanted to say that wrestlers are also dominant, because most guys started in high school or even before. Look at Edgar and Maynard. Those guys have been doing it their whole life. Unless you're Georges St-Pierre, a man who comes every 50 years or so.

  • @AlexHuizar youre partially correct, but taking it WAY out of context. you are using it in an mma setting, where all guys, have all skills. they dont JUST train wrestling, obviously, or theyd get fucking wrecked. wrestling is a solid base to have, but if you took a straightup college wrestler, and asked him to grapple with a jiujitsu guy, he'd lose. enough said.

  • @AlexHuizar moron. wrestling is the best base. too bad wrestlers rarely finish guys unless they can utilize strikes. those dumb fucks can't submit anyone. chael, kos, fitch, even gsp. they can't finish anyone. cain has awesome wrestling but he is a great striker. take that away and he has nothing. jones has great wrestling but he uses striking to finish fights. jj guys can finish people without strikes. wrestlers with no game can just lay on people for a decision. face it. people hate that shit.

  • @mustache9000 perfect example is nick diaz. he can finish you anyway he wants until some wrestler lays on him for a win. no wrestler ever submitted him or gnp'd him. they just lnp. same for his brother. he fucks people up when they aren't PINNING him. everyday people complain about this shit and it's for a reason. people say that wrestlers exploit the holes is people game but really they exploit the technique to win decisions. if i wanted to watch another guy hump someone i'd watch gay porn.

  • @AlexHuizar i don't practice jj but i know jj people and i know wrestlers. wrestlers are fucking idiots. a bunch of meatheads. sure they can ground and pound some into a win but last time i check ed it didn't take a high I.Q. to hammer fist a downed opponent. jj guys are always thinking. unfortunately many of them aren't as big and strong as wrestlers so they get handled more often than not. but in the end jj guys more fun to watch. also, small penn out grappled jon fitch.

  • Srry, nothin' against Bravo but he didnt come up with this. It's been in catch wrasslin' fer a long time.

  • @460Rowland Eddie doesn't claim he invented it. But he DID make it a viable submission, used it successfully, popularized it, and he invent the twister roll.

Kimura didn't invent the kimura either.

  • also, wrestlers are just haters. no one is on youtube or mma sites are talking about how awesome that wrestler's take down was when compared to a jj twister, d'arce choke, a gogoplata. it takes style and finesse, not brute bulldozing strength. i appreciate wrestling when when utilized with other skill sets i.e. striking or submissions. many of them don't have them and still win "fights". and that's why non wrestling fans hate the wrestlers. wrestling isn't ineffective, it's exploited.

  • fucking wrestlers. dumbest fucking people on earth. i don't know what their deal is. sure they have the meathead persona to take a jj guy down and roll around with him, control him, but 90 percent of them don't know what to do to end the fight. hell they rarely do enough damage to stop fights after they get position. if you aren't an elite wrestler a strong white belt jj practitioner will likely choke you unconscious or break one of your limbs. it takes a brain to train jj, not just muscle.

  • @mustache9000 hell YES, I agree with you. I roll around with wrestlers all the time, those cocky bastards. They think once they get you on your back, its the fucking bees knees. Guess what??? thats a JJ guys HOME bitch!! ughh its funny how many of them are clueless once you slap on a trainglee

  • Chan Sung Jung

  • Damn...Korean Zombie comments already. Awesome.

  • Korean Zombie!

  • thumbs up if the Korean zombie brought you here!

  • @rufioizgod ha ha lol yup ima try in practice 2maro

  • @rufioizgod i cnt believe how many people are just knowing about the twister from korean zombie

  • Korean zombieeee

  • The korean zombie sent me here !!!

  • Korean Zombie, first twister in UFC, baby. Thanks to Eddie's YouTube videos.

  • im still having trouble with the twister, mainly the twister roll part.

  • @HomasterX when i was a white belt i had problems wit this too try rolling with your sholders not your head like a front flip

  • eddie vs carlos newton

  • pretty cool submission

  • all this is, is a variation of a well known wrestling move from a leg ride called a guillotine. nuthin really special i wouldn't tap from it.

  • @wrestler055 Haha thats what they all say.

  • @wrestler055 you wouldn't last 3 seconds in it. fact.

  • @wrestler055 dude im a wrestler too but i mean this is eddie bravo you would tap i promise the man is a genius thats all that can be said about him oh and the fact that he is one of the best choke submission artists on the planet i would tap 98% of the planet would tap if he started to choke them

  • @Thagaru He wrestled in high school for a couple of years. that's what he said on the joe rogan broadcast

  • Swaxmedia, you are a queer.

  • look at that heel begging to be broked at 0:10 ...mmmmmm

  • i cant wait for my 1st one in comp. i might jizz myself tho

  • What a toolbag Hes so full of himself

  • lol at him calling them fights LMAO!!!

  • you guys remember when he won a tournament yah...nobody else remembers either

  • @cfrancis

Actually, he won many, including the ADCC trials to get to the biggest competition in the world (as a brown belt)...where he beat a world renowned and world class black belt by submission...did that not happen?

  • @systemskateteam he then withdrew from the tournament.

  • @getsetrecords Actually no...he then lost to Leo Viera in the next match. I'm constantly amazed by people's ability to just make up bullshit.

  • it's a modified abdominal stretch..ala..iron shiek /corporal kirschener

  • I agree...in my highschool wrestling days this was one of my fave finishes from single leg ride. Eddie must have a wrestling back ground.

  • Is that Carlos Newton?

  • @szuchmann are you deaf?

  • 2:54 was an amazing reaction!

  • @soldierdad5417 just becouse my spelling is not the best in the world, doesnt give me a douchebag personality, i was stating fact, if you attempt a sub in a wrestling match you will get called on it, if not then you will most likely get pinned, also doesnt make me a duchebag

  • Cool story, thank you Eddie

  • Bravo bravo!!

  • fyi for all of you claiming it differs from the wrestling, you are wrong, because majority of wrestlers do not use a wrestling style guillotine (twister) as a pinning move, rather as a neck crank to tap their opponent just like in bjj

  • i dunno why people keep saying he stole this from wrestling. read his book and he admits thats its a guillotine but in bjj a guillotine means something else. so he gave credit to wrestling, he didnt steal it cos he never claimed he invented it.

  • umm.... twister?? looks just like a spladle (split cradle) to a guillotine.

  • in jiu jitsu you actually try to finish instead of jsut control like in wrestling though, he added a 'twist' to it and made it his own move :D

  • lol i love the voice lmao

  • i dont know anything about wrestling, but i do know the twister, and the twister is a spine crank. just like "dontaskforhotsauce" said you pull their head into you, while stretching their leg(with the lockdown) in the opposite direction

  • I totally agree with you all, i saw him demonstrating it and thought ??? this is a guillotine ??? i've been doing it since i was a young kid wrestling and still use it alot when i wrestle... i've watched a few videos and i cant figure out what makes it any different then a guillotine.

I love eddie's stuff and thats why im watching these vid's, but thats an old wrestling move.

  • The difference is the actual twisting, hence the name. In the Guillotine you just pin their shoulders to the mat, in a Twister you crank the neck sideways and then twist your body opposite of theirs.

  • @DontAskForHotsauce wait so does tht mean tht its sort of like a guillotine variation?

  • @thegodofpop1 It's basically a Guillotine used as a submission.

  • @DontAskForHotsauce Actually read "Twister side control" by Eddie, He did take this from wrestling and the reason it's called a twister is some of the Brazilian guys in his gym kept calling it that and Eddie was like no it's a guillotine but because they already had a move named that the twister stuck.

  • @EagerJohnny I knew I read that somewhere in "Mastering The Twister" but couldnt remember what part of the book it was in. Thanks for the clarity.

  • It is the same as the wrestling guilotine. Eddie even says so. However, there was already a move in BJJ called the guilotine, so Eddie's instructor JJ Machado started referring to it as 'that twister move' or something like that and it stuck.

  • @br0237951 in his book he said he learned it in wrestling and moved it over.

  • Twister is actuly wrestling with a single leg in....guys that wrestle know what i am talking about but its nothn more....i am not taking anything away from Eddie, the guy is a gunius.

  • ya i agree, in wrestling we call it a guillotine, they've been doing it since the seventy's, again no disrespect to bravo

  • he says it is in his book Jiu-Jitsu Unleashed

  • @AlexAbatecola1 Totally GUNIUS!

  • @AlexAbatecola1 Its called the wrestlers guillotine right?

  • @75ehwtcv yea

  • @AlexAbatecola1 Yeah Eddie said he learned it in ninth grade wrestling haha

  • Comment removed

  • @dmen4545 well subs arent allowed in wrestling first of all, second this is a juijitsu varant, thats what make eddy a gunius

  • @AlexAbatecola1

Yeah there are, they're just VERY rare. The Banana Split is a wrestling move. There's a bunch more too, look them up.

  • @cbproducktions dude if you try to throw an armbar, (the one you see in mma) you will get called for it....idk what wrestling you are doing but subs are illigal, some pinning combos will hurt but your opponent cant tap out to end the match, he has to be pinned. i have been wrestling for 6 years, and i am a floent leg wrestler, i know most of this stuff

  • @AlexAbatecola1 We called it "Leg riding" in my school.

  • @BoxingandStrikeforce yea your right, we say the same thing

  • @AlexAbatecola1 WTF is a "gunius"

  • @AlexAbatecola1 Total gunius!

  • @AlexAbatecola1 Its not the same its a variation.

  • @AlexAbatecola1 Eddie agrees.. He didn't actually name it himself you know?

  • @theanvilcracks yea i know that lol

  • @AlexAbatecola1 a true gunius

  • @AlexAbatecola1 I think what they're refering to is the twister submission. no doubt it's derived from wrestling with the leg in

  • Yeeaah!! Eddie is the best grappler...

  • Awesome!

I like the voice over! It really helps to understand the game!

Looking forward to see more of those clips:)
