  • i am the nephew of tom barrasso so fuck u craig

  • he gloved saved that man...unreal

  • 90's nostalgia

  • i miss gary thorne.

  • Most points by a goaltender, career: Tom Barrasso, 48

  • correction:49 points

  • @MrBarelylethal probably all from Lemeiux's goals

  • @tjackson76 I dunno maybe a few from Jagr too lol

  • Barrasso was an excellent goalie during his prime, and this save came a bit past his prime when he was still a very good goaltender.

Comparing him to Fleury is useless. Honestly, both are about as "talented" as it gets, hence why both were drafted so high.

Simply put, if Osgood plays behind a typical Penguins defense 1967-2009, he is out of the league as quickly as the likes of Roberto Romano.

  • That does not refute my point MBL. That may be the case that Jagr had 127 points but the over all defensive approach was very different under then coach Kevin Constantine. From 1990 to the 98-99 season their were only 2 seasons with a lower team GA. When they won the cup in 90-91 the GF/GA was 342/305 and 91-92 was 343-308. Barrasso saw a lot of rubber I have no doubt Brodeur or Roy would have similar numbers. Take the neutral zone trap from Marty in the 90's and his numbers would drop.

  • Yeah the Pens change in culture on defence and the forecheck is what made them contenders and now champions

  • One thing you must remember about Barrasso's statistics he was playing on a team that thought about offense all the time and defense was an after thought. Barrasso saw a lot of rubber in his day but the Pens did not care cause they could be out shot and still beat you. I believe that if Tom was on another more defensive minded team his numbers would be much better. You can see his GAA was 2.07 in 98-99 and as I remember that year the pens started to focus on defense.

  • hmm na 98-99 was the year of jagr's 127 point season

  • more like the 1995-1996 season.

  • @pufflesareverygay Yeah what you said

  • As a lifelong Pens fan and born and raised in Pittsburgh, I hated Tom Barrasso. Great goalie? 3.56 GAA the 2 years we won the cup, and 3.66 GAA from '89-'96. His performance against the Isles in '93 and our departure from the playoffs was unforgivable. Way to step up your game after Lemieux battled back from cancer.

  • ehh, the average pens game would be like a 8-6 win, no thanks in part to the swiss cheese defense. There was never any of the team defense present that we saw this year. SCUDERI COUGH COUGH, SHOT BLOCKING.

  • Barrasso says no!

  • Marc Andre Fleury has a longggg way to go to reach Barrasso's status

  • Sick nasty, but the video quality stunk. Sorry... LETS GO PENS!!!!

  • I know that was sick- Tom Barrasso GREATEST PENGUIN GOALIE OF ALL TIME!!!!!!

  • The Pride of Acton-Boxborough

  • I friggin love Tom Barrasso ! American born, deff the greatest Penguins goalie of all time ! He ranks up with Mike Richter, John Vanbiesbrouk and is better than Mike Dunham. Calder, Vezina, and 2 time Stanley Cup champion. He played alot of his career for the streaking Penguins. They were a very exciting team to watch. Mario Lemieux, Jaromir Jagr, Ron Francis, and Kevin Stevens were not the only reasons. Tom Barrasso with constant moments like this ! Barrasso owns !

  • Sick

  • Horrible quality....but Barrasso is God. Go Pens.

  • Awesome !!

  • tom barrasso, one of my favorite goaler

  • tom barrasso lives in my town, such a sick save!

  • holy shit.

  • that was sick, omg awesome

  • O MY GOD!
