  • sublimes jailhouse is one of my favorite songs ever. much love in reggae its all about sharing everyone shares songs if you bitch bout it then gtfo reggae bro

  • WHat is sublime? Utter shite...

  • two legendary icons who represented the land they came from, taken from us forever =(

  • good mix... its like their steppin' razor mix with sublime's steppin' razor, then switches too peter tosh's stepping razor.

  • Thats badass.

  • no way this is bob... but whatever

  • if you truly liked reggae well then you should not be angry.

  • Check out Tenor Saw's "Roll Call."

  • what the fuck i want to hear the bob marley version! dont get me wrong i love sublime but i was getting into the bob marley version!!

  • @dahulky watch?v=WLIxH2FH2X0

  • haha if you want to contact the Creator, then go to myspace

  • something funny?

  • @RewindSelector412 yeah just something you said in the info hah the "Creator" like god or whatever haha

  • Comparisons are odious

  • both are great

  • Brad's voice has fuckin soul.

  • i didnt no bob did this. its the shit

  • love both versions! The shit!!'

  • the sublime version reminds me of roll call by tenor saw

  • @snubbs741 definitely.

  • stop bitching both versions are amazing

  • @101piesaregood exactly

  • on my guitar, on my guitar

  • great add

  • haha, love that picture, its so funny

  • really wanna find bunny wailer "Rudy"

    took it off youtube.. wtf.

  • this is an old reggae song, the writer is probably lost in time - bob's version sounds original and folk, sublime's is definitely cleaner and more rock and roll - my personal preference is the roots/rocksteady style of reggae, slower but more melodic but you kids and your rock and roll

  • sublimes version is better cause after hearing this i would like to hear that one instead

  • I agree!

  • Perfect song and mix...

  • no version is better than the other sublime just puts a little twist on it. both versions are good it just depends on your taste

  • wow you can even say that sublimes version is better. cuz without bob this song wouldnt exist.

  • yeah but freeways wouldnt exist without hitler, not comparing bob to hitler im just saying the original doesnt have to the best

    x

  • @longislandmyniggas

So a rotary phone is better than an Iphone, or better yet a droid?

  • I think the die hard Marley fans will always disagree and say BOB's version is better since it's his song. NO disrespect to Marley but my opinion is that Sublime's version is definitley better. Look at it in another way. Let's say 15yrs from now, a new band remakes "Santeria" and all the people in that era think that version is better than Sublimes.. It could happen. Just a thought..

  • i know this is 3 weeks late but i actually thought about it... and i wouldnt care cause there are so many other good sublime songs that the mass media doesnt know so we will not have to worry about them ruining santeria cause they already have ..imo. altho, i agree with your point about the "era" concept.

  • good point, bro.

  • sublimes version is way better. way way better, no disrespect to marley but there is no competition. this may be sublimes best song just because of the diverse vocals and both distorted and clean guitars mixed together. if you really take the time to listen to it and embrace each individual instrument and each part it goes with you'll see that sublime made this song a uniquely amazing piece of art

  • just curious.... how do people from jamaica and the "real" reggae fans feel about sublime?

  • obviously respect.. he is influenced by them so his success is a tribute to their culture

  • oh yeah i mean people like you need to have the go ahead from real reggae fans before making up their own mind

who cares what other people think

  • um no sublime has been my favorite band since before i started listening to bob marley and other reggae artists, so i dont need the "go ahead" as u put it. i was just curious how sublime is recieved among the real reggae heads.

  • that was completely unnecessary. sublime knew more about reggae than you do, so back off

  • Mr Marley was born in1945 and passed away in 1981. respekt man. ONE LOVE and PEACE

  • search...Tenor Saw-Roll Call on You Tube and listen.

  • this is good, but i got to go with sublimes version. im listening to it right now. still... Marley rules R.I.P ONE LOVE

  • who died first? was it bradley or bob

  • brad died on may 25th 1996, dunno about bob

  • bob died in 81

  • brad died 96 bob 81

  • @subskatic bob died in 1981 so then bob died first. that's why i hate when people say they played together cuz like they weren't ever even alive at the same time haha.

  • @subskatic LOL bob died in 1980

  • @subskatic Bob died in 1980 or `81 im not entirely sure.

  • not bob marley its bunny wailer

  • i love SUBLIME but i respect MARLEY

  • I like the Sublime version better because it's more dynamic. Sure, they borrowed from Marley, but it was to show their respect for a legend. They often paid homage to prior bands to show what kind of influence they had on Sublime. This is one of their better covers.

  • Aw, I was expecting to see an old school black and white video of marley and the wailers. They recorded this before he was rasta right?

  • The sublime version is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Better!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • dude

im absolutely in love with sublimes version

but it cant be better than the origonal

  • get a job

  • if it means anything i really like it

  • this is totally lame.... why do you need to mix the two together to prove its the same song! we can all hear the lyrics, I wanna hear the bob marley version!

  • of course youre right, ill stop uploading them

  • Good choice.

  • LOL FUCK the HATERS!!, great mixes!

  • Awesome vid.

  • sweet, thanks for uploadin all these...i dunno if it says on there but sublime also sampled 'roll call' by tenor saw on this tune

  • really? in what way?

  • he just kinda used the vocal melody and some of the lyrics...especially on the second verse
