  • There is Cindy McCain at 1:18- 1:20 ! This would have been around the time John got shot down over north viet nam.

  • Ahhh the days before they all hated Alan Price

  • @CardyUSM Yes and not too long before he left either! I want to upload the studio version of this because his organ licks made the song and they just aren't coming through quite the same way here. He had a touch no one else has ever duplicated.

  • this song connects to your soul. Eric Burdon and his voice are just so breathtaking. it's perfect. Eric was a cutie back then :) too gorgeous for words. this song is too perfect for words ♥

  • Too Cool... No Doubt an inspiration to John Lennon...

    Peace & Love.

  • Real talent, I'd give anything to go back to those days...Hulabaloo and Shindig...and there was American Bandstand also.

  • @ElKabong47 and soul train

  • What a great song from one of the greatest bands ever, no one did it like Eric Burdon and the Animals, thanks for the post.

  • Perfect! That's all I can say...

  • Chas....thanks for the experience and those wonderful early animals years, thanks pal

  • now this is music !

    and great memories !

  • When I listen to animals.. I feel so good.

  • americas answer to the beatles. what a fail

  • @alijake555 The Animals Are From England not America

  • @alijake555 The Animals are from Newcastle in England and were one of the British groups who went over to America along with The Beatles, The Rolling Stones etc.

  • Seen Eric 1966 Felt Fourm M.S.G.-NYC The BEST! blew my mind then and still going strong!

  • How about Jimi's future manager- Chas Chandler - Yeah!!!!!

  • brings me in tears

  • Eric Burdon's voice goes right through to my soul!!..

  • Cindy McCain @1:20 She was doing the Animals while John was in POW camp.

  • The Animals songs/vids I saw tonight convince me they rank right up there with the greatest. Not talking about just the big hits. Talking about the total body of work from 64-66. Im a big Beatles and Rolling Stones guy-Animals take a back seat to no one.

  • God, I love Eric's voice!! I was fortunate enough to see them live on their last tour before they broke up in 1966. This is the best cover/version of this song ever.

  • The late, great Sam Cooke WROTE and recorded this composition, NOT Wilson PIckett. Lou Rawls provided the backing vocals on the original recording. No one had, or ever will have, the singing voice, and style of Sam Cooke!

  • @fedexhome Yeah except Otis Reddings version of "Change Gonna Come" blows Sams out of the water

  • One of my favorite bands and songs.

  • he was so hot!

  • Written by the great Wilson Pickett. This is the best version of all.

  • no lip sync here, what a great song ! ..... good job guys !

now I must hear more from this great group

  • I wonder if this performance is lip-sync'ed.

  • those were the days

  • Gorgeous boy!

  • Eric & the animals

    The Rock and Roll Soul

  • Awesome!!!

  • love his voice...and this song.

  • Another great performance by Eric -- But it is so weird how the women are used as "props". Talk about "objects" -- sheeesh. Thank goodness for Women's Liberation!

  • I must hear this song from time to time. It is like a drug - but it's healthy.

  • "Hello People this is Vakano and I want yall to Check out my new video

    Simply Put -(um bluesing)...

  • So cute how Hilton is shy and looks away from the camera at about 1:00.

  • Nice to see an early Alan Price.

  • yeah, that's great!

  • 1 of the guitar players @ 1:17 is very talented...at the end of House of the Risin Sun, he has air in his cheeks induced probably by cannabis in the morning without breakfast...here he's got style with his diamond ring and diamond bracelet which sparkles & colours this otherwise black and white footage. The chorus with 3 talented The Animals singers (at 2:00) is better than a lot of the Beatles' choruses.

  • I grew listening this with my dad, it brings tears to my eyes just thinking of my past, in a very good way:)

  • Nice rendition of a Sam Cooke classic.

  • I agree

  • Music that gets to the very heart and soul.

The Animals got under your skin. One of my fave bands since I was eight years old,
