You know what else is kind of fun and quirky. They were in the Top Ten with "Hold On" at the same time that Wilson Phillips was in the Top Ten with "Hold On'. Carnie Wilson said that when she heard En Vogue, she and her sister Wendy and friend Chynna who is now a Christian Pop Singer said that those guys blew them away.
You are welcome and I could not agree with you more. Iconic is the perfect word. They grabbed your attention and you couldn't look away - and the music and vocals were as tight as tight gets - and I've seen them live twice. Their moves and posing riffs were "adapted" by Destiny's Child and many of the current "girl" groups.
@ScottsdaleSoulMan This song was originally done in 1976 and written by Curtis Mayfield. It's from a movie called, Sparkle. The moves and dialogue come from that version. En Vogue's sound and camera work is way better than the original. The original probably would've been a hit back then if it weren't for disco.
I don't care what anyone says this video is a classic to me. The Dresses alone are iconic. Jessica Rabbit can't see En Vogue. And I'm not even gonna talk about Dawn's vocals or them stellar harmonies.
En Vogue is the best female vocal group ever! Thanks for posting!
