who is JJ Cale? surely you jest. He's all over UTUBE. He grew up in tulsa. Others who played with him in the 50's and 60's, Leon Russell, Jimmy Markham, Rocky Frisco, Bill Boatman, Bill Rafensperger, many more.
@l4anyrat ...no biggie; we all can't know everyone. Really, unless you're "into" Songwriters and Songmen, J.J. is a behind the scenes-don't want much attention-kinda of guy. Check out the DVD, J.J. Cale to Tulsa and Back, and you'll see the real J.J....the real Tulsa Sound and the feeling that Tulsans have for their musicians. Each town has it's Favorite Sons and J.J. is one of any Tulsa, OK native...he takes us back to After Midnight etc etc etc...keep the videos comin'!
Didn't he write the song in 'Tin Cup', called "Double Bogie Blues"? He's so underated it's not even funny. J.J. Cale has more soul, more blues, more heart, than just about anyone out there, past or present (Except for my hero Delbert McClinton.
What happened to that knocked-out woman Delbert had performing with him for a long while? She was great! She had short blonde hair, kind of a tall gal. She was good.
I'm 29 and I love him. I think he's awesome. I feel so blessed to have seen him and hope he's around for a long time... the albums just don't do him justice, even though they are great... it's nothing like the live shows.
yeah i know what you mean. Did you see any of my other videos about the Michael Ray Little Band? They are the band that opened up for him! check them out on LaneVids [dot] com
This makes me proud to be 52 and proud to have seen Delbert at Cain's many many times before. I look at all the old toots filing into the front door for this concert, and wonder....how many do I know?!?!
Thanks for posting this, it takes me back to 1980!!!
Really like everything about Delbert's delivery...He use to sing a lot with Marcia Ball...she has a lot cd's out herself.
It would be cool to go on a cruise with Delbert sometime.

Hey, if you like Delbert McClinton, check out MusicUCanSee on YouTube. Watch them all, because some of the least watched are the best.
