  • Ali was being gracious and otherwise always took the opportunity to diss Joe. FYI I did roadwork with both Ali ('75) and Frazier ('77).

  • Again, prime Ali, Foreman (a homicide), Frazier, Holmes and Tyson wipe the canvas with Rocky. The 1973 Quarry could have beaten him. And, when caught by a prime Lyle or Shavers, he doesn't get up like he did against old and lighter hitting junior heavyweights like Walcott and Moore. Ditto for Cooney's left hook (Rock would have spotted 9 inches and 45 pounds). Just much too small and could only fight moving forward and was too easy to hit. God bless his legacy The times maketh the man.

  • dirtyjew1974: Let's do get started on Ali: sure, he won the title against a much older and shot Liston, however, that was the exception, where with Rocky it was the norm (as already detailed). Against Foreman, he was 7 years OLDER (Rocky was younger by more than that with Walcott and Moore). And Ali was two years older than Frazier. Don't care about Tyson-Berbick. Trevor was not a great fighter or unified champ like the other guys we're talking about.

  • dirtyjew1974: Again, my father was ringside as a journalist. You can't get a better, unbiased firsthand account. And as anyone can see, when he got up from Moore, he was dazed.

Walcott was FAR from the top of his game at 38-39 against Rocky. He peaked in '47 when he was robbed against Louis. And even then, he was the oldest challenger to date for that title.

As I said, Rocky's walk-around weight was 215. He was the most dedicated in training camp ever, and it was amazing he got so light

  • dirtyjew1974: You make some good points and as always I'm open to the feedback of anyone who can do so in a civil manner (which you did). That said:

Thesaurus def: coldcock - knock down with force

You're otherwise VERY guilt of historical revisionism, to wit:

When knocked down by both Walcott and Moore, Rocky was hardly off balance. Rather watch the tapes) he was in a solid crouch and moving in.

  • rocky is the best there was and best there evr will be

  • gibememoni: 2) Even so, Rocky was cold-cocked and knocked down early by both Walcott and Moore, badly outpointed by Walcott in the first fight until old Joe ran out of gas, and arguably outpointed by Charles (a blown up light-heavy on the decline) in the first fight. Marciano was much younger than 3 of the four major names he built his rep on. In those days, being 37 (Louis), 39 (Walcott) and 42 (Moore) was ANCIENT. Rocky was like Frazier before Ali came back and Foreman came along.

  • @drmbowen the definition of cold cocked means out cold asleep so no he wasnt ever in his life cold cocked, his only two knockdowns came partially from being caught while off balance and got up unhurt and immediatly both times againsed moore and walcotte, walcott although 39 was still on top of his game like it or not and was not fatigued when rocky knocked him out, he got caught and thats the sum of it. far as charles goes he was barely older than rocky and lost both fights to rocky legitimatly.

  • @drmbowen you should look up the age differences between tyson and ali againsed their oppenents in the major fights...theres actually more difference with the guys they faught and rocky and the guys he faught. tyson was 14 years younger than burbick who he won the title from and lets not even get started on ali. you say charles is a blown up lightheavy and maby moore but rocky couldve faught light heavy himself lol. moore was heavier than rocky in their fight and rocky and charles the same

  • gibememoni: 1) Please read for accuracy before responding: The only opponents referred to as light-heavies were Charles and Moore (which is what they naturally were); Marciano trained down to an exceptionally low weight for fights, but his frame and natural "walk around" weight was bigger (215-220) than both of those natural light-heavies. Height doesn't matter (all of Tyson's opponents were taller than him, same for Frazier).

  • I dont understand. People say that Muhammad Ali was the best, but Rocky Marciano beat Muhammad Ali and never lost. Didnt they fight in the same era too?

  • @bootysweat44

    Huh? rocky never beat ali.

  • @bootysweat44 no, rocky retired in the mid 50s and ali came on the scene in the early 60s and they never faught aside from some sparring for a computer fight in 1969 after rocky had been retired for 14 years. they did become friends after and ali said many good and respectfull things about rocky. he said he dont know how that fight would have gone and that he thought rocky couldve beaten frazier. its on youtube, look up ali talks about rocky and you should find it.

  • Surely an all-time great, what fluidity of movement...watching good boxing truly is poetry in motion, I love it!

  • ronan5547: I appreciate that your response was coherent and objective, rather than an assault on my character, private anatomy and family heritage (as these u-tubers so often do). And I fully agree with you on both accounts. FYI my father covered the Marciano-Moore fight in the Moore camp as a cub reporter for Sports Illustrated when the mag was only a year old. See issue 9/19/55. Best to you. M Bowen

  • Made his legacy beating washed up 40 year old ex-champs and a light-heavy just a few years away from getting Multiple Sclerosis and quit in time to avoid getting destroyed by Liston. Would have lasted 30 seconds with the '73-'74 Foreman, been toyed with by a prime Ali, out-hooked and over-powered by a prime Frazier, and blasted out by Tyson.

  • @drmbowen wasn't rocky's fault the standard was poor. you gotta beat whats put in front of you. and he did, very well. would tyson have been as good in the 70s as he was in the mid - late 80s??

  • @ronan5547 no, tyson wouldnt have done as good becuase heavyweight boxing was at an all time low in the 80s lol. was great in the 70s and good again in the 90s. aside from a past prime larry holmes tyson didnt really beat any notable fighters in the 80s. the middleweight was the hottest devision in the 80s since the heavyweights were so bad.

  • @drmbowen

Nice opinions. Too bad those "light heavys" were taller and weighed more than rocky. And I didn;t know 32 year old ezzard charles was 40 and washed up?

  • @drmbowen walcotte was still top of his game when he faught rocky and was also still in his 30s was a late bloomer in boxing. charles and rocky were about the same age & only a year between them. rex layne, lee savold, roland lastarza, none of them were 40 when they faught rocky & some were in their 20s. moore was the only one 40 or just over and he was hands down the greatest light heavy ever & heavier than rocky in the fight & in the 60s even faught ali near the age 50 and lasted 4 or 5 rounds

  • @drmbowen now you say marciano would be out hooked by frazier but frazier was mostly a one fisted fighter, most all his kos can via left hook but rocky was a ko fighter with either hand. ali said he though marciano couldve beaten frazier in an interview and you can look up ali talks about marciano and see it for yourself. ali sparred a 46 year old marciano and said his punches hurt alot even 14 years retired so just imagine a fresh young marciano punching instead.

  • rocky marcioano vs foreman

  • BIG HEART.

  • he wasnt the fastest of fighters but was very powerful RIP rocky great fighter

  • Rocky v Frazier would have been an epic encounter. Two warriors who would rather die than quit. An unwavering will to win. Thats what seperates the greats from near greats.

  • amazing!

  • rocky marciano the best

  • that was ONE brilliant watch...thanks 4 the upload

  • Anybody got the name of the music?

  • Bonavena is similar to him (physically)

  • I dont think it's possible to imagine who would have won between two fighters that's just speculation. I prefer facts.Opinions are like Assholes... Everyone has one!

  • @fabulousgerro661 yeah count yourself in.

  • 7 dislikes this guys knows nothing about boxing...fuck off

  • The true inspiration for the movie rocky balboa

  • Very limited boxing skills but a big heart and great competitor. Video very well done.

  • no one like rocky marciano

  • thanks for sharing some amazing footage

  • Rocky was the Greatest so was Smokin Joe and Larry Holmes.

  • I wish we have a boxing training center like foreign country near my house.

  • at 1:30 what kind of work out is that? what does it help?

  • Rocky Marciano vs Mike Tyson when they're both in their prime. Who wins?

  • you facin areplane!

  • if rocky fought today he would be a light heavyweight or a cruiserweight.in his prime he was 188 pounds.i think he could take tyson based on his big heart and will to win and of course his big punch.tyson was not mentally tough.when someone wasn't scared or fought back tyson folded.holyfield, douglas, and danny williams ? come on !

  • @MultiJman69 how dare you compare a prime marciano to a washed up, no headmovement, pay check fighting tyson

  • @LiquidDnb4Ever he didn't, he compared a young, tough, better right handed, tyson's left is prolly not that much better, but... rock had extremely limited boxing skills and was no speedster. A prime (not a washed up, and we never got to see how bad rock might've looked had he kept fight... thank god) tyson moved his head and had faster hands, and better boxing (though he didn't use it much), if rock hit him? my answer is the rock, but... could he hit tyson, we know tyson could hit him.

  • Marciano was tough, no doubt, but Ali and Tyson would have had him for lunch as would several other heavyweights from our era.

  • @snivelinjack

Yeah, shit Rocky only had a 49 and zero record with every boxing expert calling him, "The Best of the Best" heavyweight champions in history."

Rocky Marciano is the only unbeaten and untied boxing champion in history. 49-0 is his legacy. Of his 49 wins 43 came by way of knockout. His knockout percentage of 87.75 is the highest among all heavyweight champions. He is 7-0 in title fights.

  • @2chenwang:

And Joe Louis held the heavyweight title for 11 years 8 months and for 25 title defenses. No one has come close to that reign yet.

  • @2chenwang You are wrong

  • @snivelinjack Ali admitted, "Marciano could have beat me in his prime." He said they sparred and he never got hit that hard in his entire life. He said Rocky was not a great boxer but he could kill you because he hit so hard. End of story. See his interview, "Thumbnail Muhammad Ali Talks About Rocky Marciano."

  • @2chenwang C'mon my man, Marciano was small, slow, and only had one weapon----a brutal right hand. Watch his fights. He shuffles most of the time. He is slowly aggressive. And who of real note did he fight? He got the hell beat out of him by average heavyweights until he got that right hand in, e.g., Wolcott. His record was very impressive. He was a good fighter. Compared to the big, powerful brutes of today he would get slaughtered. But how can we really be sure.

  • @2chenwang He also said that he thinks that he on his best day and Marciano on best that he would've beaten Marciano by decision. But like he also said its up to the imagination

  • @2chenwang:

Ali was being kind and respectful.

  • @tw69hands2 Ali being respectful? hahaha! No, you obviously didn't see the interview. He said he would have whooped Joe Louis. Then goes on to say that Marciano would have givin him a lot of trouble. No, he wasn't being 'kind and respectful', he was being honest. Ali had great style, and he was smart. But Rocky was a monster.

  • I consider Ali the greatest of all time just for the fact he beat everyone in the golden age of boxing he fought all top class fighters no bums...but i still respect rocky and his great record anyone who is undefeated has to be great

  • Did Marcaino hit as hard as Jack Dempsey?

  • @ajsjugerhyete

    Prolly even harder

  • What is the music?

  • damm nice song to it anyone knows?

  • There will only be one Rocky Marciano. Not the biggest, not the best boxer, but the biggest heart and the classiest character in all of sports. Rocky, we miss you!

  • My favorite boxer of all time. Period.

  • undefeated ...the one and only ..champion of all time

  • запилите мелодию

  • we can talk about rocky's training all day but the point of Rocky's story is heart he wanted to win no matter what the cost nose split in half or not you dont have to dance to be a great boxer

  • You think the workout of rocky kicking the heavy ball is effective??? Wouldnt it be better to just squat and launch into the air repeatedly??? or jump on high objects???

  • @0245014 He was a winner so he did something right

  • name of music?

  • Even though I may not know much about Rocky Marciano I know he was a humble, and respected man. He was a great man and a great boxer of his time. This video is great the choice of music fits it so good. Probably watched this 10 times already.

  • he was the ultimate fighting man!

  • It wasn't no special exercise , it was just god given power either you got it or you don't

  • How did you find this footage AND the exact music that he used to listen to while training?

  • please let me know the title of this great song....please help me

  • sorry what is the name of this song??

  • I remember my father telling me when he saw this man box . The entire crowd were on their feet to try to prepare to catch the anticipating for ever great moment of delivering a great knock out . My father said they never realized that they were living in the universe of this mans era .

  • You've got to rapidly sink & then push all of your bodyweight against the ground to throw the hardest punches: Kicking that medicine-ball seems like a good way to help build that skill. (Do boxers do that now?) Rocky didn't much weightlifting by the time he was famous, but he lifted earlier in his career, & it built him a strong foundation. Boxers back then were told not to lift weights..if only they'd known.

  • How heavy was that bag at 1.09?

  • @ajsjugerhyete Legend is Rocky had a custom, 300 lb bag. This might be it, depending on what it's filled with.

  • The man had the heart of a lion. What a great clip.

  • one of the best videos i've seen

  • What made marciano really strong wasnt his body size, they said his back muscles were really amazing. must be where he got his power from.

  • So cool . . you can almost hear him hitting the bag

  • he was so great and wasn't that big - but POWERFUL

  • @MrSoccerAnimal

Strongest boxer ever lived, amazing power..

  • superb music to bring back yester year

  • whats the name of this beautiful song ?

  • MAMMA ESCO...

  • Boy he hits hard

  • :'( The legend

  • The Rocks spirit lives on. God bless you Rocky

  • Now that is a great fighter.

  • R.I.P. Rocky Marciano & Joe Frazier two of the toughest boxer I ever heard of.

  • Rocky Marciano= one of the best champions of all time.

  • was he sparring liston i dout it but does look like the 50s liston

  • @ItsDatGirlJordz It doesn't look like liston to me, that sparring partner looks too skinny

  • @carmodifire ino ye but the 50s liston was abit smaller

  • @ItsDatGirlJordz Liston was prime in the late 50's, idk. But I really doubt it.

  • @carmodifire i said the same thing i doubt it but it looks like him

  • fighters like him make me proud 2 be half irish

  • @mvpopper222 but Rocky Marciano was fully Italian.

  • this was a special kind of fighter here,a ceaseless forward moving wrecking ball

  • My uncle was his trainer

  • @kickassification23 Mine was his mother

  • @666FrankBooth666 Your uncle was his mother? Or do you mean aunt?

  • @kickassification23 Er....I was just being a dick, I do that sometimes

  • Great video

    Every fighter trains different

They said rocky marciano was the worst amatuer boxer they had ever seen but he never lost a professional fight:49

  • Never thought of using the speed bag to practice ducking punches

  • Good stuff on Rocco. Is there any more.im hungry for it

  • Thank you for uploading this. Very heartwarming video of one of the best Heavyweights of all time. R.I.P. Rocco

  • 1:53 is he throwing that at william shatner?

  • This is awesome man! Thanks for posting.

  • Anyone who talks crap about Marciano doesn't know the whole story. Like I said before its too hard to compare Different Era's of boxing, but those guys back in that Era were so much tougher, like bar knuckle fighters. Marciano would be standing at the End of every fight no matter who it was. 49 Wins No losses Most by Knockout. Can't Fu!k with that.....

  • @Jay43Bird Ali had two selections as well. He said once that Shavers hit hardest; and in one of his biographies (King of the World, I think...a little help here), he said that George Foreman was the hardest hitter he faced, with Liston being the scariest, and Frazier brought out the best in him. He also mentioned something about Patterson being the most skilled fighter he ever faced, but the original topic was about hardest hitter, so blah

  • @ah93704 Was it about the hardest hitters? Sorry. Well It didn't matter who hit the hardest, its who was most effected with the Power and well we could go on and on with that. I don't Care all of them are the best in there time I like Marciano the Best. My personal opinion. Lets just Say the very Best Street Brawler Of All Time Marciano!!! :)

  • @Jay43Bird I agree with you. Gotta have respect for all teh fighters. My two all time favs are Marciano and Joe Louis.

  • thank u for the video of the great man and legend rocky marciano.R.I.P. ROCKO

  • Sonny Liston had overrated power. He didnt have the ability to think in the ring. Louis would destroy Liston. Easy. Louis would move around and land combinations. The only thing Liston had that may have given Joe trouble was a good left jab. Other than that, Louis would win by late knockout!

  • Beautiful. I wonder how Rocky would have done against guys these days. He was little. 187lbs? You put him in the ring with a Klitchko, I don't know if he could have hung in. Thoughts?

  • @P:Rocky's D's better than given credit for. Endurance's unparalleled, work rate & power actually increasing in later rounds. R loved to fight, K doesn't seem to. K'd be something R'd never faced, but that goes both ways. Give early rounds to K, but an early ko that K might get if he were agressive won't happen due to a cautious style. R's continued pressure's confusing & disheartening to K, late rounds are R's. Split decision: whoever was champ stays champ by a point or 2.

  • @CompleteBoxing what is the music?

  • wow this video is amazing!

  • 4 dislikes from the losers in life...

    ignore these types of losers

  • Que hermoso video, muestra como detras del boxeo, que personalmente no apoyo, hay toda una dedicación departe de cada pugil para las peleas, me emociona ver tanta pasion y sacrificio, y me motiva a dar mi 200%.

  • And I disagree about Liston having overrated attributes Xavier. Liston KOd guys with just his jab. And he only has one blemish in his career, that blemish is Muhammad Ali. His other two losses are insignificant, one loss he had early in his career as a kid, his other was at the very end of his career when he was old. An interesting note, it is widely speculated Marciano partly retired to avoid a fight with the then rising powerhouse Sonny Liston as Marciano was soon to start aging.

  • @vladiator100 I've read that Rocky's camp urged him to quit when the likes of Nino Valdes and Floyd Patterson was rising stars in the heavyweight division, I still think the Rock would have beaten them, just an interesting side note. Patterson's chin was too suspect to go the full 15 with Rocky, he'd never stop Marciano in 100 years. The Valdes fight is interesting though, we never saw the best of Nino.

  • @MrBumboclart Yeah I have read plenty of Marciano retiring because of up and coming stars like Patterson, Nino and of course Liston. I do believe he could of beat Patterson and maybe Nino but I can't see him beating Liston. Just think Foreman vs Frazier.

  • @vladiator100 My point exactly. If he didn't get stopped by Sonny's power, I think the Liston jab would be too much for the Rock who struggled with an old Joe Louis's jab, he'd swell and bleed causing a stoppage.

  • @vladiator100 People like you really irritate me. You dont know shit about the sport of boxing. You are essentially a retard. Marciano didnt retire because of up and coming fighters. He retired because Al Weill was stealing all of his money. He was also having worse and worse back pain. It had nothing to do with Patterson you nit wit. Marciano also promised his wife he would retire. Plus, he could make plenty of dough if he retired as unbeaten champeen.

  • @MrBumboclart People like you are just plain stupid. Nino Valdez had 19 losses. Why on earth would Marciano be afraid of a guy with 20 losses? Marciano didnt fight Valdez because he lost to Bob Baker and Ezzard Charles. Marciano would have created Valdez. Valdez had a chin made of fluff. Floyd Patterson was offered a fight with Marciano but Cus Damato wanted no part of it. Damato had his protege wait for Marciano to retire before going for a title shot.

  • @ah93704 If Valdes had 19 losses why did the Rock never fight him? And what you say about Patterson is bullshit, though I don't think he would have beaten Marciano, Rocky still ducked him. And who are you to call me stupid? The person with a bunch of random letters and numbers for a username. I have my opinion that Liston would beat Marciano, and because of that I'm an idiot? There's only one idiot in this conversation and that's you asshole.

  • @MrBumboclart I just told you why. Dont you read? He didnt fight him because Archie Moore defeated him. Archie Moore deserved the shot after he won a decison over Valdez. Do you understand now? You dont get a title shot when you lose. The guy who beats you gets the decision. After Moore won, Rocky was gonna retire but Moore kept bugging him for a fight. Eventually he got under Rockys' skin and the Rock agreed to fight him. Rocky won, of course!

  • @ah93704 You talk out your ass and you don't know boxing. Marciano ducked Patterson and Valdes, he would have been knocked out by Liston and his biggest rivals were all old shells of their former selfs - never defeated a prime great in his career. If he'd fought 10yrs later he would have been a Chuvalo like journeyman.

  • @MrBumboclart Cus Damato kept Patterson back until Marciano retired. He knew his boy would get his ass kicked. Valdez didnt get a shot because he was defeated numerous times by Archie Moore. Ducking a fighter is when the fighter is the number 1 for years and beats everybone and the champ still never gives him a shot. Valdez lost to Moore as well as other fighters. He wasnt the number 1 guy and nobody wanted to see that fight anyway. Valdez couldnt draw flies with his boring style!

  • @MrBumboclart what about Rex Lyne? the guy Fleitscher said would be the n ext Dempsey? he was in his prime. He had a knockout win over Bob Satterfield and had also defeated Ezzard Charles. I agree that Marciano didnt have the great opponents like Ali did but he still defeated all the best fighters around at that time.

  • @ah93704 I could defeat Bob Satterfield, the worst chin in boxing history, but strangely one of the biggest punchers. Just look at his record! Something like 50 wins 30 losses. And as I've said before, Charles, who could have been the greatest pound-4-pound fighter ever, was a shell of what he once was when Lyne and Marciano fought him. After killing Sam Baroudi in the ring he lost his training ethic, killer instinct and flare.

  • @MrBumboclart lol..you couldnt even beat your own meat much less Bob Satterfield. You fucking retard, quite trying to act alll bad ass, because you aint shit. all you can do is say "if such and such had done such and such he would have won" but thats all just speculation. rocky defeated those guys because he forced them to fight at his pace, and didnt go at his their pace. He was a brawler and he MADE THEM fight his fight. You obviously have a bias against Marciano because you're probably a

  • @MrBumboclart a jungle monkey fucker, and cant stand the fact that a white man, remains to this day the ONLY UNBEATEN UNDEFEATED HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD. Now, go take your ugly ass back to Africa and eat your god damn bananas!

  • @ah93704 LOL! So now we see why you've got a hard on for Rocky. You're white, like me, and support your own race...out of stupidity? You're a fucking moron. I'm white but I accept Rocky was overrated as fuck. And you can speculate all you like but 42yr old Archie Moore knocked him down, Jersey Joe Walcott knocked him down in under a minute and was kicking his ass until Rocky got lucky with one punch. Note these were old! They would have killed him in his prime...

  • @MrBumboclart speculation..and you're not white..you can barely form a coherent sentence. Look. Rocky is the only unbeaten undefeated champion. You can try to discredit him all you want but you need to look at what you've done with your life and come to grips with that. I can look back on my life with pride because I fought for my country and actually have a great career that I love. What do you do? I doubt much of anyting.

  • @ah93704 Want a cookie or something? I don't give a fuck about your life. This isn't about your weak fucking life. It's about Marciano, stop changing the subject because you know your boy is a fool who beat up a load of old men hahaha. And I am white...like you in colour but not much else dickhead. Seems like I've evolved faster than you, I'm superior. Because #1 I don't judge people on colour, and #2 I see Marciano for the overrated slugger that he was! Every aspect of him is overrated!

  • @MrBumboclart good comeback. You're life doesnt compare to mine. Thats why you are quiet about your accomplishments. Look, Marciano was a great champion who beat the best of his era. Give me one good reason he should have fought Valdez? What would it have proven? There wasnt any money in it. Valdez was not the number 1 guy!

  • @ah93704 And I haven't mentioned my life because it HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING! We're talking about boxing...you bring up race...then somehow link it to you being a hero for your country? Wow. Someone is a bit confused. And lol at you stalking me on other questions, get a life you uninformed freak.

  • @MrBumboclart you dont have anything to brag about. I've had over 12 amateur fights and have sparred countless rounds in the military. I have forgotten more about boxing than you will ever know. I've been to dozens of boxing matches. I've met many of the great fighters that you can just dream about meeting. You dont know that much about boxing. Anybody that would try to say Marciano was overrated is simply clueless!

  • @ah93704 49-0 against who? Some old guys. He was almost knocked out by Jersey Joe and Archie Moore...again TWO OLD GUYS! He was losing a huge decision to an OLD Jersey Joe, when Rocky was in his prime. He was also taken way into the later rounds by these OLD GUYS and forced to work for the KO's. In their prime they would have killed him lol!

  • @MrBumboclart He fought the best of his era. What more can you ask of a heavyweight champion? I think you'd be talking down about him no matter who he fought. For some reason you have a vendetta against The Rock. I personally think you are just insecure with yourself. I have no animosity towards any boxer. I respect all of them. Yes, I have my opinions but I dont put them down like you do with Rocky Marciano!

  • @MrBumboclart Yeah sure, in their primes. Right. Did you know that some fighters get better with age? Why do you think it took Walcott so long to become champ? He honed his technique with a lot of practice. He thought he was going to handle Rocky Marciano with ease. After the fight, he spoke very respectfulyl about Rocky but before the fight he said "if I dont beat this guy, take my name out of the record books". Rocky Marciaon made you fight his fight. Thats why he was a winner in all 49 bout

  • @ah93704 Power - a little bit, but he's too small to be considered a big hitter. Most of his KO's came late....because he wore his guys down. Chin - Like I've said, he was knocked off his feet by two old men, what would Liston or Foreman have done to him? Record - Don't make me laugh! Not a single prime ATG on there. Klitschkos would beat this guy.

  • @MrBumboclart he had 11 first round knockouts and several knockouds before the first 5 rounds were up. He kept his power into the late rounds but Marciano was dangerous throughout his fights. He would break bones in opponents arms and shoulders. Even Ali said he was one of the hardest hitters. He had bruises up and down his body from just sparring with Marciano!

  • @ah93704 Ali also said Joe Frazier hit harder than Earnie Shavers....point proven. And sure he may be a puncher but he doesn't compare to at least 10 other guys I can think of at HW. And at least 3 or 4 other guys were tougher than him. He's a out-dated fighter who's record has only lasted by chance - upsets - fighters losing track of training it doesn't prove anything. Only that he dominated a lacking era of boxing. If you rank Rocky then you gave to rank the Klitschkos.

  • @MrBumboclart George Foreman and Ernie Shavers both hit harder than Frazier. You got your quote mixed up, like usual. Frazier had more lasting power. He could hit just as hard in the 15th as he did in the first round. Same thing with Rocky Marciaon. Marciano has two records that will probably never be broken in boxing. He has the highest knockout ratio of any champion and he is the only unbeaten undefeated heavyweight champion of the world. How much better can you get?

  • @ah93704 LOL! I got my quote perfectly right...It was just to prove who Ali contradicts himself every time he's asked a question. He said on the "facing ali" documentary that Joe Frazier hit him harder than Shavers...proving you can't take his word for it when he talks about Marciano's power. And it appears you must have been hit too many times on the head when you boxed - you're repeating yourself. Repeating the shame shit I've disputed correctly, you're in denial you moron.

  • @MrBumboclart Rocky Marciano has the highest knockout ratio of any heavyweight in history. How can you deny his punching power? Are you stupid? Jack Dempsey and Joe Louis both said what a great hitter he was. Angelo Dundee said that Ali had marks all over his body from sparring with Rocky Marciano during their Super Fight. Ezzard Charles said Rocky "numbs you wherever he hits you" and ARchie Moore called him "a bull with gloves". You should read Sullivans book on Marciaano. As well as others.

  • @ah93704 two words: Dr. Ironfist

  • @MrBumboclart and Ali never said Frazier hits harder than Shavers you twat. Ali always said Shavers was the hardest hitter he ever faced. I'm sure he said Frazier carried his punch late into a fight better than Shavers but theres no way in hell Frazier hits harder than Shavers. You obviously mixed up what the greatest said. I dont think the difference between Fraziers and Shavers punch is that great but Ali certainly gave the nod to Shavers in punching power. Go read a book you nub!

  • @ah93704 You're racism just shows how ignorant you are and I don't waste my time on ignorant people, it's possible to argue without being offensive, boxing is all about debate. But every now and again some fucking idiot comes along like yourself who chats shit when in fact YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT! Liston would have put Marciano in a coffin, the same thing I'd do to you if I met you you pussy.

  • @ah93704 Compare each of Marciano's top opponents in their prime, fighting him? Louis by UD, but Marciano I believe could have stopped him late if he got lucky (ala Walcott 1), Walcott is a tough one, he was losing a huge decision to an OLD Walcott before Suzie Q landed, I'd give Walcott the decision therefore. Archie Moore, well Archie would of one if he'd chose to box not slug - in his prime and boxing - UD win. And Ezzard Charles, kicks his ass with technical ability, defense and speed.

  • @MrBumboclart Walcott was at his best later on in his life. Some fighters get better as they age and Walcott was one of them. He fought Louis twice for the title and came up short both times. Then he fought Charles and lost twice but won the third fight with a sensational left hook. He defeated Charles in a rematch. Then he fought Marciano and was knocked out in the 13th round. All you're doing is speculating. What if? What if? The fact is, Marciano made Walcott fight his fight!

  • @MrBumboclart what I said about Patterson is accurate. Damato wouldnt let Floyd fight Liston and wanted no part of Marciano. When Rocky retired he named Moore and Patterson as the two men most deserving of a shot at his title. They fought and Patterson won!

  • @MrBumboclart you're not an idiot for thinking Liston can beat Marciano, y ou're an idiot for thinking Marciano ducked anybody. He fought the best and he defeated them all. You have to understand, Marciano and Moore were like a tag team, defeating all comers. Moore desperately wanted to fight Marciano. He beat all the guys in his way to get that shot. Sometimes you gotta be careful what you ask for.

  • @MrBumboclart I dont think you understand boxing. Show me where Floyd Patterson challenged Rocky Marciano and where the Rock said "no, I dont want to fight you" or where he walked away with no comment. The fact is, Floyd Patterson was a middleweight before Rocky retired. (or perhaps a light heavyweight). Anyway, when Rocky retired Floyd moved up and fought a few fights to get the shot along with Archie Moore.

  • @ah93704 Seriously? You've replied to my comment with 5 separate comments? I don't have all day to argue with you and I haven't read any of your replies. You really care that much - inbox me the argument. Because I've said my peace, you're just too ignorant to understand it.

  • @MrBumboclart We can all see that you can't keep up with my arguments. You make claims that you simply cannot validate. For example, you claim that Rocky ducked Sonny Liston. Even thoguh Sonny only had about 10-15 fights at that time and was nowhere near a contender. You claimi that he ducked Floyd Patterson even though Floyd was campaigning at light heavyweight or middleweight and only moved up to heavyweight when Rocky retired. You are a fucking nub. I win you lose. Now go read a boxing book

  • @ah93704 Keep up? HA! You repeat the same shit over and over again you ignorant racist. I'm sick of hearing the same shit - your in denial.

  • @MrBumboclart The reason I repeat myself is because you dont deal with what I said in your replies. You are the one repeating yourself and not answering my questions. This debate is pointless. You have your opinion and I have mine and neither of us are going to convince the other. I wish you well. Enjoy the great sport as I do and I wish you all the best!

  • @MrBumboclart you are sick of it becasue you cant refut it. Facts are facts.
