Hyperinflation has happened many times in history. Just check out Wikipedia and search hyperinflation. It's happened hundreds of times throughout history with paper currency. This shouldn't be viewed as rare, but something of a trend with all of the fiat currencies of the world.
@ggadguy - Maybe a 'trend' more common when irresponsible governments use the money-printing machine disproportionately. The video just said that it was the first hyperinflation in the 21st century - are you aware of any other in this current century? 29 periods of hyperinflation were also mentioned in 2:31.
