For sheer performance energy and entertainment value, these guys are up there with the Blues Brothers! A magnificent original take on a great song - would have loved to bee there.
it must be a rareity cant understand why it hasent gone over a billion hits. what an experience having stumbled across this.the singer would make mincemeat of the famous welsh peformer. t j. who are ya.
Hi Guys, love the vids. Gotta know though, did you play at the Worcester Blues Club in the late 1980s? I recognise a couple of you but in those days you were a 3 piece. I still have Tim's T shirt from one of the gigs.
Keep on playing - this is real RnB, not the stuff kids listen to today.
Are they still going? I've got a few friends who remember them too - Once I moved from Watford I never heard of them again - I've seen a lot of bands in my time but they stood out as one of the most fun - ever.
Yeah the guys still do occasional gigs. Tim Aves has several other musical projects on the go too. Tim is "top banana" and has helped me out greatly over the years with my harp playing.
Check out automaticslim dot co dot uk (youtube wont let me type in web addresses). Or go to myspace dot com and search for automatic slim, or tim aves.
Theres a few gigs coming up if you are still in the south east. Maybe see you there.
I used to see these guys in Kings Langely in the late eighties or early nineties - agreed one of the most fun live bands I've ever seen - the guy singing in this track looks like a guy I remember playing for was playing for Dr Feelgood, could this be true?
Cheers for your comment Mr Kaba, the guy singing is Howard the bass player doing his "thang". He would be chuffed to bits to be associated with Dr Feelgood, although Automatic Slim were friends with the Feelgoods so it is possible that you saw them on thne same bill. Check out the other Slim tracks on my profile. Spread the word.
I love you guys, especially the fat German guy. Isn't the lead singer the doctor out of Green Wing. Have you ever seen Harry and the Hendersons, maybe that would make a good song too. I love you, do you think he needs the toiletttttttttttttttt.
Cheers, these guys are Automatic Slim from Essex UK, one of the finest live bands you will ever see. Led by "the fat German guy" Tim Aves. Check out the other clips on my profile.
Saw these today, in Kelvedon. Right before the headliners, The Blockheads. Brilliant!

Been listening to this solid now for 7 months or so and Howards vocals and performance on this are true genius. Warren would be very approving.
