Are you sure? Because I really believe that it is a Cummins L10 engine because listen at 3:02 only an L-10 shift like that on a Flixble because I should know because when MARTA had Flixbles they had L-10s and 6v92 engines and plus I rode them all the time.
Oh thanks for explaing :D For some strange reason on Flixbles the M11 engines sound like Cummins L-10 engines even though they are from the same company.
They would sound the same (more than likely) due to the transmission used (Voith D863.3). When it comes to a Cummins/Voith combo, reguardless of what engine it is, be it the ISL, or ISM, it's hard to tell the difference...unless you ride a Gillig.
The 9700s have that "Grim Reaper" exhaust note which when the engine is idle, the pitch is in the key of F or G.
In Portland, OR, Tri-Met's oldest Flxibles (since the retirement of the 1988-89 models in 2003-04), units 1701-1808, have that same "Grim Reaper" exhaust note (key of F at idle).
That's why I'm apt to think of many modern Flxibles as "Grim Reaper" buses due to their annoying exhaust note.
Thanks for this video. This relives me all the time.

You're absolutely welcome. I have 2 more of these (9805 and 9808), but they're too long for YouTube.

Too bad the air conditioner covers up the "Grim Reaper" exhaust note.

I need to learn how to do these audio recordings. I have audio recordings on my camera, but I need to find a way to get them on my computer.
landoverdivision321 3 years ago
If that's the case, plug the camera up to your computer, then drag-n-drop the files onto the desktop.

Hey thanks man. My camera can get some nice audio. I'll see if I can do this.

Those are M11s. I can tell the difference from the 9700s. I have a few people that can varify the lower 9800s have M11s. The rest of them have S50s.

That WMATA Fixible has a Cummins L10 engine I believe.

M11. The 9700s have L10s.

Actually the 9800's are split-order. Buses 9801-9818 have M-11's. The remaining (9819-9835) have Series 50 engines.

I just remembered something Marta had hCummins M11 on their New Flyer D35 Buses too!!!
Transit411 3 years ago
No they didn't. They had Cummins L-10's. Those buses were built before the M-11 was available for transit buses.

You're right sorry about that I looked at my old MARTA bus roster and they had L-10s sorry about that that was a memory mistake :D

MetroLinerXLZ, what program did you use to do this? Did you use Windows Movie Maker?
landoverdivision123 3 years ago
Yes I did. Couldn't find any other good movie-making software that did better in terms of quality.
MetroLinerXLZ 3 years ago
It seems I need to use another program to import my videos. Windows Photo Gallery takes the sound out of my videos.
