This is that Seabiscuit with that Elijah Wood in it & the title sounded pretty enough so we thought we'd spend some of our pension on it. Elijah Wood was remarkable in this but I have no idea what it was about. It might as well have been about air biscuits! Turcotte hardly pushed him in that race and never used the whip; yet Big Red still cruised home with the still-standing record for 1.5 miles on dirt.

His large heart helped his stamina, and his big build contributed to his incredible speed. Affirmed, another great chestnut, was a naturally-bred Triple Crown champion. Time to move on.

Buuuut... the SeaBiscuit movie was better than the Secretariat movie.

There were either four or seven horses that played Seabiscuit in the movie. I only know that the one who ran in the match race at the end was named "Popcorn Delights" or something to that effect.
If they had done the historical stuff in this way, rather than David McCullough's documentary, it would have been a better movie. If I want to watch PBS, I don't need to spend $10.
The music for the first 25-30 seconds in this trailer is the same piece used in Shawshank Redemption (when the prisoners drink beer at the completion of their roof tarring job). What is it called? It is a wonderful piece of music.

They put blinders on Seabiscuit so he could run faster. That helped him let go of support sideways and reach for God instead.

In his heart, Seabiscuit never "beat" War Admiral.
Horses are different than people. They aren't competitive with each other. They are cooperative instead.
Seabiscuit saw the fear in the eyes of the other racehorses in his "herd" and gave them the gift of his spirit. The great love in his heart compelled him to lead the others to see the power in the hearts of all horses, a power that helped them fly on the wings of eagles.
He ran for love.

There were either four or seven horses that played Seabiscuit in the movie. I only know that the one who ran in the match race at the end was named "Popcorn Delights" or something to that effect.

This film should have won Best Picture and Best Cinemagtography at the Academy Awards in 2003. It was phenomenal and tear-jerking--my all-time favorite film.

This is not only a Horse movie but a true American movie that signified the essence of second chance. Understanding that all Americans needed at times of crisis, was a second chance to prove themselves and prosper.
People who have watched would understand that true fights and races are driven from the heart.

This movie to me rated an A+ This movie reminded of how bad off people really were during this era! How could you not love everything about this movie. More than a horse race a test of the human spirit to survive. I want to thank the writer of seabiscuit and all the actors and all musicians Thank YOU! for such quality film! Waiting on the next one for sure!

in this time of uncertainy we all need a hero. I wish Seabiscuit could come back, but he wll have a descendt race in 2010! Her name is Bronze Sea! Coincindently, she was born on the same day as him. Seabiscuit showed all of us that you don't have to be tough, or fast, the only thing that matters is the heart that counts.
