I drank the same thing as you... It's overpriced and tastes like crap.... Just like real starbucks. Seriously though, fuck anyone who says that it tastes like regular iced coffee. Although I do have 5 packets left and I want to find a way to make instant coffee good, maybe mix it with half water, half milk, sugar, and shake it a lot???
You may have used too much water. I thought the Colombian tasted great. Even the Italian decaf was quite drinkable and I don't normally like decaf coffee at all.
Hey dude, love the show! Question: As a Canuck (Canadian) I'm curious to hear if you have tried Tim Horton's coffee. It's all the rage here in the Great White North. 8-)
@wheelzwheela I have not but I have friends that have tried it and some love and others hate it. I will have to try it soon to make my own decision. Do you like it? I wonder where the closest one to Kansas City Missouri is?...
@CoffeeCupNews the body reminds me of the americano but the taste "sometimes" reminds me of brewed coffee. Now i say that very loosely. I don't mind the flavour of VIA but only the Colombian.
wow, i think you should do a comparison of different types of MDMA*. i can barely imagine how super super chipper you'd be!
great review by the way.
(*i by no means condone the use of recreational drugs. if you decide to try MDMA, you may have the best night of your life, but you also run the risk of turning bright purple and spontaneously combusting)
Maybe my style is not for everyone. I do think though if you take the time to get to know me you may find you change your mind. I do like twitter though so maybe I am a twit? ;)
i like via. it's a nice change from my brewed-at-home coffee. i bought a pack of 12 and haven't brewed a pot since. i don't know if i will be getting more yet though, because of the price.
Tried VIA when I was in London a few months back - and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. Thing is, though, I used a lower liquid per satchet ratio, thus making it taste less watery. A lack of availability where I live makes it hard to re-test it with the "proper" ratio.
That makes sense. I definitely can see it's place among the instant coffee world but there is no comparison between it and brewed coffee and I can see your point on the better than work coffee. :-)
I think people come to Starbucks for the coffee, decent music, comfy seats, etc.
You cant make instant coffee while u are out...unless you have a kettle in your car that runs off the car battery.

Why are you drinking in paper cups?
The VIA also has gritty mouthfeel to it, so it's not a clean mouthfeel.
I also think it gets that bad flavor once it cools down, chalky, somewhat cardboard like. And like no acidity at all.
Also I would much rather cowboy coffee(like cupping, but no spoon), than instant. I also found it surprisingly weak, even with the gritty mouthfeel.

I farted in the cup on the right, thus the robustness. Jason requests that I always fart in his coffee, even on camping trips.

Isn't any kind of instant coffee totally contrary to the original ethos and mission statement of *bucks?

ya your really paying for convenience on this one. Plus brewed coffee is just fresher and better.

Such a amazing video, I have a question what kind of brew coffee did you use to compare the Starbuck VIA and which method? And which VIA did you use?

Pikes Place or Cafe Estima they were both on tap that day at Sbux

ya that would make a huge difference wouldn't it. Maybe I should give that a try to see what I think with a lower liquid ratio...
