McCain did good?????? Did anyone here his answer to economic questions? Did you hear his answer to Pauls question? "I know steven, mary, sue, jacob, joey is also good with that, I would get an advisor to tell me about, many people that i have as friends."
Even if Mr McCain's intent was to express that he just wants interest rates to be low, this still shows a massive lack of understanding. Per Dr. Paul's exchange with Ben Bernanke on September 20th, the moral hazard, with respect to the mishandling of monetary policy begins at the point where interest rates are set artificially low, encouraging malinvestment, speculation and bubbles. The policy of artificially low interest rates has greatly contributed to our current precarious position.
The way I remember the clip is a CNBC employee approaches Mr. McCain, congratulates him, informs him Kudlow and crew are calling him the winner, and then warns him that if Mr. Kudlow gives him a hard time about the ZERO interest rate comment that he should laugh it off as a huge joke. McCain insists, very seriously, that he really thinks interest rates at ZERO would be a good idea.
Until someone posts that actual footage from the raw feed, we'll have to agree to disagree.
So the guy who says interest rates should be at ZERO won the economic debate. And then, in the raw stream from CNBC afterwards is caught insisting that he wasn't joking, he thinks interest rates should be ZERO when a CNBC employee is warning him about Kudlow possibly needling him about the comment.
Mr. McCain, you must have ZERO understanding of monetary policy. Incredible.
McCain "looked good"??!!! What drivel!

Hold on, you mark my comments negative?
McCain said he thought interest rates should be ZERO. Then insisted it was a good idea before his interview with Kudlow.
This is a debate about ECONOMICS. Does Mr. McCain or any of you have any idea what it would mean to hold interest rates at ZERO???
