  • has anyone noticed how many videos he has

  • lol that camera man doesnt have a clue wer to stand in these vids

  • @abdullah8571 1 foot outside the line when serving is perfectly alright

  • After I realised this was useless, I was watching the basketball players at the back

  • thumbs up for failed basket ball in the background

  • Practical simple visual coaching what more could u want thanks Mr Village :)

  • fuck i hate these adverts before the vids

  • @klangwii You know if there wasn't any of these advertisements youtube would charge your around $0.50 to $0.75 per video. Be glad to have these advertisements.

  • @raymanlegy how dare you tell someone you dont even know what to do!?

  • @klangwii Complain BITCH!

  • @raymanlegy cbf ayy cuz

  • Nonono this is wrong.

you want to stand about 1 foot away from the corner of the service box in the middle of the quarter when returning. If you stand too far forward, you wont have time to react to a power body serve nor will you be able to reach a wide serve hitting the wall parallel to your position. If you stand at the back you cant play the ball quickly enough which immediately hands over the incentive, and makes it harder to return as the wall is in the way. Therefore middle is best.

  • the instructor is clueless

  • bt of a fail from 0:14 to 0:20

lol he said its gonna b tough for him to pick it...

  • Yeah the most important point is to stand side on ready for the return down the wall. The receiver in this video was much too square on receiving to is prone to a cross court return which is normally cut off.

  • I thought this would be pretty obvious

  • I didnt know Goldilocks played squash too!!! I thought she was just into breaking and entering ... oh well ... maybe squash kept her fit so she could carry all the stuff she stole from the bears house ...

  • you want to stand at the back of the court nearer the middle, it is easier to run forward than backwards

  • Yes, its also easier to mess up a return when you rush. If you stand at the edge of the service box like he says, you can play a volley, get a short ball or if it gets past you play either a backwall boast or regular boast or if the serve allows you high and straight down teh wall..

  • hahah just like goldilocks!

  • well the reason standing in the back is not good is beacuse say the serve is deep and hits the back wall first then your caught running forward to touch the ball as it goes to bounce, and mabey due to the space of standing in the back if the ball comes in you might not have enough toom to hit it

  • I totally agree with you. I still have a habit of standing near the back wall and am often either:

    (1) Left with no space to swing

    (2) Run after the ball if it hits the back 1st.

  • yeh like i said right obiously no space to swing is a major issue but in regards to run after the ball : if your caught running after the ball then more then likly you wont be getting the ball with all your power therefore making a "defensive" hit which is in sence a hit with no planning just getting it to play one more rally. in sence you always want to be ready for the ball so you can use your core strength alogn with your arm strnghth and plan a perfect hit, a "offensive hit"

  • Played squash for the first time in my life with my son. I should have watched your lessons before hand. We had fun, but the next test comes Friday night when we join a bunch for Friday night Squash. I will put some of these tips to work.

  • Wow. Fantastic lesson. Stand in the middle to cover all options.

Er, isn't that just common sense.

  • unfortunately many beginners just don't care where they stand

  • @superfly1001978

still helps newbs like myself in geting started. :)

    btw, fantastic lessons..

  • @superfly1001978 as a non-player, i would've thought standing at the back would be best, glad i watched this video so that I won't look like a right idiot.

  • The instructor does not encourage player standing at the back. But, Gary did ok standing at the back returning the ball, what's wrong with it ?

Standing in front is a no-no, that I can understand

  • lame...break the ball wherever your opponent is standing.

  • These are the best squash instructions I've found on youtube. You guys have done a great job, thanks for posting these.
