  • I really like how, for the most part, classic sonic actually WORKS in the 3D levels. The only things that seems to need changing is the rainbow rings/pads, springs for wall jump spots, tighter 3D turning, and a non buggy 3D spindash. In fact, it would not surprise me if the dev team was thinking about doing just that, but got axed late in development to make it for the release date.

  • @PocketEmerald It's not a wild theory. Lots of rings in the classic levels are flagged for lightdash. Why would Classic sonic need that?

  • @superskeetospro With the current tools released like a month after this video, I'm pretty sure I could just remove the kart. Although changing the target of the cannons is possible as well.

  • @sonofdark18 It doesn't involve modifying any game code tho, just swapping some files around. So it should be doable on the console, but no system to test that on. : |

    Basically in Sonic Adventure and SA2 your homing attack's range was considerably smaller, at least half as long as today's, which is largely based on Shadow the Hedgehog's. It basically just requires you to make eye contact with the enemy and no matter where you are, you're guaranteed to hit it. By reducing it a bit, you'll make homing attacks partly skill-oriented, as you gotta calculate your timing right.
