@lazicsale if you have an analog synth, you just have to record it with a mic. if you have a MIDI keyboard, you just plug it in via USB, or MIDI cables to an audio interface with MIDI capabilities. if you don't know what this stuff means, google it. hope it helps.
I thought your pace was perfect. I'd prefer an HD video showing the full screen instead of the moving camera, but it doesn't make it much more difficult to follow.
You can use a stereo imager to Split, Gives a better split than the EQ thing you did :) You can click solo Low band, than flip it and change seperate out to high band, and alter the frequency to your liking :) Instant Frequency Split
Pretty easy to follow if you're an experienced reason user, the catch I see is that the zoom is too close so the slightest mouse movement makes the 'camera' move a lot...
could you maybe do another tutorial for this, or post a download link for the patch? Sounds great though... I just wish I could get the sound you made
Hey, have you guys seen the Windows 7 equipped StudioBLADE keyboard workstation? Its perfect for running all your favorite Windows compatible software and plug-ins! Click the link below for videos!
Ehy buddy, tnx a lot for this tutorial, your patch sounds great to me. I just feel to ask you why you are using Eqs for multiband processing ??? It may work better with stereo imagers since they split and cut the frequencies... Its just a guess.
Thanks a whole heap for this! It took some time and patience but I finally got it, was about to give up until I realized I hadn't initialized the Thor and Scream components so that's why it wasn't sounding like yours for ages. Kudos keep it up!
This is the best Justice bass Ive heard. Sadly its just impossible to follow this tutorial. Sometimes I couldn't figure out which distortion or equalizer you were tweaking. Could you make another slower tutorial or just e-mail the project file? I really think its the most authentic sounding justice bass.
You probably know by now that the tutorial is pretty hard to follow but it's good and I got this eventually ;) How did you learn to get this down, ergo how did you learn to make full use of all the endless methods to get a certain sound in Reason? Any recommendations (besides the obvious trial and error combinatons)?? Thanks!
the main idea is here .. but the problem is that it sounds "cheap". sorry i mean nothing unpleasant. but the very important thing in justice sound is the quality of the fat sound. you can add disto, copress octaves but you miss the mud. i guess this comes from reason.
this is absolutely amazing. I just got reason yesterday but I don't even know where to begin with it hah. Anyway that's an amazing sound you've got there!
very good info here. but goddam, you go way too fast to keep up especially with the patching. i got it done but it took me ages pausing and rewinding for almost an hour.
are u serious. guy. whats up with the horrible vide.. shakey and wobbly cool technic but you go waaay to fast and u cant see sh!t retry buddy cause you have some great info
Because the camera moves around so much, it's really hard to watch this tutorial, and pausing it to see how things are routed and/or set is also really difficult. Any chance of a transcript?
Great sounding bass and fantastic tutorial, aside from the speed. I've spent over an hour trying to follow along and I still seem to be missing something subtle in the overall sound of mine.
Could you be cool and send or post an .rns file of this bass? Big cheers! Thanks.
jeez man, what the fuck is that? do you call it tutorial? you have to explain every step you make. but you run and it's just impossible even to remember what you are doing. plus the camera is moving too fast. please
Thanks a lot this i really useful ! However, I have the impression that I do not get the sound you exactly are doing, my one sounds a lil bit different... I really like the first sound you do in the presentation of the video... Do you have a RNS file of it ? I actually try to redo that but the video and plugs go pretty fast...
thats probably the longest way of side-chaining.

sidechaining isn't something that people just know, so you might want to explain that or else they're not going to get the sound you're promising.

zimonslot 2 years ago
I dont understand why you put 4 equalizers on 1 synth... whats the purpose of that? Couldnt you do all the equalizing in 1 equalizer?
And then putting a distortion unit on an equalizer??
zimonslot 2 years ago
the eq changes how the distortion reacts to the signal.
then to remove all unwanted frequenys after it.
its just about getting the tone of sound. more than what one eq can do.
m4tt3h 2 years ago
so your basically adding distortion to frequency bands?
zimonslot 2 years ago
pre distortion eq is mainly to make the distortion to distort the specific boosted freq more. or not distort the cut freqs not as much.

awesome tutorial but could you please post a slower version?
