The end of the first vocal line is so tough. I think hes singing the open e string note while playing the second fret......right? So the vocal line is different than the melody. Thanks for the awesome lesson!!
Thanks! A great and well done lesson on a soulful tune. You're right! I well enjoy playing this one hopefully for a good long while. Onward into another Patton song....
Better than most...at least youre not a terrible singer.
However- at 0:30 -up & down with your index finger!?...I don't think so mate...I guess you can maybe get away with it on your crude & loud resonator...
That riff has to be played with all up-strokes.
And why you so sure Charlie ain't fretting the whole C chord shape?
@sofullofshite So what makes you the authority then? Did you used to hang out and get drunk with Charley while fretting full c shapes and only using upstrokes? If you are going to talk about someone's playing you should post some of your own. You obviously have it all figured out and must play the most low down, amazing blues that anyone has heard since Charley himself. What a shame that you keep it to yourself. When you do post, dont forget the vocals..
@sofullofshite wow you really are mad and I'm not. You're probably having a pretty miserable time or life and attacking others to feel better about yourself. I'm not that good at feeding trolls so I'm going to just block you and move on. What you say is not true anyway. Peace out.
stupid question, but what is the guitar tuned to before adding the capo

@LittleBrotherBlues My friend, you are a conceited pompous phoney.
Passing yourself off as some kind of authority because you studied a few 'guitar workshop' dvd's.
And you have the gall to talk dirt about Paul Geremia's ear.
And you think Stefan Grossman (another impostor) can actually play!
I'm a troll with ears, and you're a vainglorious no-eared homunculus troglodyte charlatan with an affected southern drawl.
Sure bud- all one needs is a silly 'blues name' a 'blues hat' and a 'blues guitar'

I've been looking for a way to break into Patton's style of playing but didn't know where to begin.
Thank you for this great lesson.
