Loved the intro as it was one of the better intros to a shooting game. However, looking at this intro today, I noticed that the voice actor's annunciation is a bit off and sound dare I say, a bit on the "slow" side? Also, what made this mission illegal? Just a thought... Shoot'em up!
PS1 R-Types is an ALMOST perfect port of the arcade R-Type and R-Type II.
There is a difference in resolution though, because the original 1987 & 1989 arcade games were 384x256 pixels. PS1 R-Types is running at a slightly lower res, 320x224 or something like that.

Yup, I remember an option when pressing start where the game would play like Gradius on the TG16.
But since I'm not used to having the screen scroll along with me, I usually disable it.
