Kris has a sweet voice and it is most efffective in the studio and/or with a highly cranked up mike as it was on the live show in Portland. It has a sweet little nasal whine unlike the deeper nasal of David Cook and Chris Dautrey. Very romantic.

Good point, and you're right. I don't think I ever really noticed that...and didn't notice that the others weren't as good at that, at least I didn't notice that on any of the other TOP 5, but you may be right. I bet it's because he's a musician...you have to have good timing to be a musician...and for singing and for instruments timing is really hard! Also, a lot of people say he can't sing very high, but he hit a lot of really high notes in this song!!

Any person who would turn on American Idol season 8 without hearing them sing previously or heard any of the Adam hype.....would most likely say Kris has a much more pleasant voice.

Lambert has his niche. Gokey has his soul and r&B thing and frankly has more power in his voice than Lambert. But Kris had balance and broad appeal to people who do not need the high A note gymnastic vocal runs. They wanted a singer. A singer is about the person and the talent...both have to be high level. Hendrix was a shitty singer but he sure makde you feel like listening to him. Hnedrix once said he hates his voice but he likes the music he is playing and singing..perfect.
He was leagues ahead of Adam in terms of talent.. he didn't have to put on makeup, dress up like a broadway performer, or have fog and lighting aid his performance... and best of all.. he didnt scream... EVERY SONG

Hicks is making a comeback. Singers are not always about hitting the high A (Lambert) and looking pretty cool. And Lambert is one hell of a singer. Nor is it that soul gravel powerful Gokey thing.
It was about balanced attach and approach. Lambert could not be as humble as Kris..body language tells you this. Not could he be as balisticly instense as Gokey who want knock it out. Kris was balanced and did well on severl levels. That is why he got more and more votes. It works.

its a real shame that they both couldnt win..if they did then all this fighting wouldnt have happened. on the other hand, Kris deserved the title as American Idol 2009 110%. Adam is amazing yes I know but Kris deserves every second of success. I will most definetly buy Kris' album and, hey, maybe I will even buy a few of Adam's songs :)

Any person who would turn on American Idol season 8 without hearing them sing previously or heard any of the Adam hype.....would most likely say Kris has a much more pleasant voice.
This happened with my friend, someone i work with, my grandma, and my aunt. Obviously all of them have very different musical tastes.
I don't understand why Adam can be himself and be worshipped but Kris is ridiculed for being himself.

C'mon people--we have an apple here and we have an orange. Both these guys are amazing. Some like the gentle crooner, others like the glam rocker. I love both. Adam was held up as a the one to beat because of his outrageous and thrilling performances. How can you not smile when this man screams? LOVE Kris too--he's as real as they come. He's raw. You can't learn that. and you can't buy it. I look forward to more of his smouldering vocals! That man can sing! He moves me.

Lambert has his niche. Gokey has his soul and r&B thing and frankly has more power in his voice than Lambert. But Kris had balance and broad appeal to people who do not need the high A note gymnastic vocal runs. They wanted a singer. A singer is about the person and the talent...both have to be high level. Hendrix was a shitty singer but he sure makde you feel like listening to him. Hnedrix once said he hates his voice but he likes the music he is playing and singing..perfect.

Hicks is making a comeback. Singers are not always about hitting the high A (Lambert) and looking pretty cool. And Lambert is one hell of a singer. Nor is it that soul gravel powerful Gokey thing.
It was about balanced attach and approach. Lambert could not be as humble as Kris..body language tells you this. Not could he be as balisticly instense as Gokey who want knock it out. Kris was balanced and did well on severl levels. That is why he got more and more votes. It works.

adam has a better range then kris but thats not the only think to take into consideration when your talking about talent... kris plays piano & guitar changes the instrumentation & arranges different pieces... yes adam is great but the judges try to act like kris cant sing at all... 1st of adam & kris timbre is completely different, and kris does have a strong voice, he might not have adams range but kris still has a good strong voice... the judges have simply already picked adam as the winner!
