Supra is ALOT lighter! The problem with High boost 2JZGTE engines is they need re-bearing (Mostly Crank bearings) often due to the amount of pressure spread over six pistons (esp. at only 3 liters!). The Mustang in this vid with its setup could run 4-6 years on a build if the owner uses proper fuel, etc-

Living in vegas I've seen a few crashes when street racing was much bigger. Then when I did my internship with AMR later on down the road, I've responded to street races. I'll put my 2 cents in. Any "Cobra" built before the 93 model are pre SVT. SVT didn't make a Cobra before 93(Ford did-1979 mustang cobra) and every one made 93 and later are ALL SVT(at least through 2004). The one in this video is an SVT Cobra, OR a GT with a Cobra body parts. So, if it is a real Cobra, it's an SVT Cobra. danielson631 is right that the intake is not stock, so you can't judge the car by the intake. But you can judge the year by the engine(94-95).
The biggest reason that they stopped making Supra's and skylines was the emmisions they put out... Ofcourse they are other reasons but nothing specific.
Anytime you boost a V8 it will usually be faster then a boosted Inline 6 at the same psi of pressure. I bet the supra could make more hp then the mustang though even with a 1.6l less... they have a better block design with more valves per cylinder... and can handle more pressure.
that means they can hold less pressure? a v8 can always hold more pressure and take more abuse. thats why nascar, rail cars, and indy cars, etc use v8s not an inline 6. its simple physics. a 6 can be made to hold massive amounts of power but you can do the same to a v8 and get better results.
It depends what cobra your talking about. The one in this video was pre-SVT thus probaly natually aspirated stock. The 03-04 cobra will do high 12's, GT500's will do low 13's, the 2010 GT500 will do high 12's again. The 98 MkIV was suppose to be the fastest year produced for the I6 Supra's and it's rated at 13.8 stock. But that's also on 17psi of boost where the 03-04 Cobra's were only on 9psi.

it is a 94-95 cobra bc of the 5.0 under the hood. the tail lights are not the original bc they didnt make them vertical until 96, which they started with the modular engines.
yeah they show the motor its a 5.0 which came in 94-95 cobras and thats clearly an aftermarket intake manifold your seeing. its an sn95 and like i said 94-95 cobras were built with 5.0's then they switched over to modular engines in 1996. there is no PRE-svt mustang cobras. they are all built by SVT

Supra is ALOT lighter! The problem with High boost 2JZGTE engines is they need re-bearing (Mostly Crank bearings) often due to the amount of pressure spread over six pistons (esp. at only 3 liters!). The Mustang in this vid with its setup could run 4-6 years on a build if the owner uses proper fuel, etc-

At least I'm not the only person on here that feels the sme way i do. Take it to the track !!!! Too many things can go wrong on the street. It's alot more fun at the track because you dont have too worry about the police or innocent people. I'm all for racing !! Get those cars on the track and let loose !! Support your local track!!!

I do have a good time. Whats wrong with OBEYING the law while doing it? Is beating someone while racing on the streets worth losing your life or worse taking the life of an innocent person? All I'm saying is keep this kind of stuff on the track!! Thats all !!! I'm all for racing as long as it's being done at a track. What would have happened if ANY of those other cars changed lanes in front of either of the racers? So many things can go wrong at a street race. It's just not worth it !!!!!

You are right. Street racing is illegal for a reason. I'm all for racing personally, but do it where it doesn't involve the lives of others. Living in vegas I've seen a few crashes when street racing was much bigger. Then when I did my internship with AMR later on down the road, I've responded to street races. It does get ugly, and racing on public roadways aren't worth the risk of taking someone else's life.

I'll put my 2 cents in. Any "Cobra" built before the 93 model are pre SVT. SVT didn't make a Cobra before 93(Ford did-1979 mustang cobra) and every one made 93 and later are ALL SVT(at least through 2004). The one in this video is an SVT Cobra, OR a GT with a Cobra body parts. So, if it is a real Cobra, it's an SVT Cobra. danielson631 is right that the intake is not stock, so you can't judge the car by the intake. But you can judge the year by the engine(94-95).

Anytime you boost a V8 it will usually be faster then a boosted Inline 6 at the same psi of pressure. I bet the supra could make more hp then the mustang though even with a 1.6l less... they have a better block design with more valves per cylinder... and can handle more pressure.

that means they can hold less pressure? a v8 can always hold more pressure and take more abuse. thats why nascar, rail cars, and indy cars, etc use v8s not an inline 6. its simple physics. a 6 can be made to hold massive amounts of power but you can do the same to a v8 and get better results.

It depends what cobra your talking about. The one in this video was pre-SVT thus probaly natually aspirated stock. The 03-04 cobra will do high 12's, GT500's will do low 13's, the 2010 GT500 will do high 12's again. The 98 MkIV was suppose to be the fastest year produced for the I6 Supra's and it's rated at 13.8 stock. But that's also on 17psi of boost where the 03-04 Cobra's were only on 9psi.

it is a 94-95 cobra bc of the 5.0 under the hood. the tail lights are not the original bc they didnt make them vertical until 96, which they started with the modular engines.

yeah they show the motor its a 5.0 which came in 94-95 cobras and thats clearly an aftermarket intake manifold your seeing. its an sn95 and like i said 94-95 cobras were built with 5.0's then they switched over to modular engines in 1996. there is no PRE-svt mustang cobras. they are all built by SVT

your right. the cobra rearend is an IRS. the gt is a solid rear axle. Solid is old technology but never fails, cobras at high HP swap over.
