The Horns were originally used on the old TTC M-1 and H-1 subway cars until 1999, when the horns were transferred onto the TTC streetcars between 2002 - 2004.
The Toronto Transit System sucks ass! Every single streetcar in this city should be fire bombed and dropped into a large pit. They're heavy (thereby destroying roads) and they clog traffic (traffic has to stop to allow riders to embark/disembark). Whoever thought of this system had zero foresight. How about replacing them all with electric buses? At least that way they'd be able to pull over and allow traffic to continue to flow. It's time for Toronto to enter the 21st century.
iamalive3910, you sound like a complete idiot! Toronto should be very proud of it's streetcars, they are great for the environment...0% emissions! Where i live in Winnipeg, i sure wish we had streetcars, which we once did, but we made the mistake of going all motorbus, i hope our next mayor does something for our city
The streetcars DON´T destroy streets, that is doing by trucks AND buses, the trams runs on RAILS. AND trolleybuses were withdrawn in 1993 and had less transport capacity. Trams ARE the 21st century transport, and there are more and more networks all around the world (and a lot in US). I agree that perhaps the tracks must be moved to the sides of the street so the cars can be clogged by themselves and the trams pass them on reserved tracks without molest cars.
Great video! Love that show! is it possible to do the one were the talk about subways? or even locomotives? Thanks:)

iamalive3910 will apologize to the streetcar (tram) once fuel prices reach sky and he has to leave his car at home.

A horn? Where would be the romance in a streetcar horn? Streetcar bells own Toronto with their merry ding-dinging.

Check out Amsterdam's system. Way more efficient than these antiquated dinosaurs.

Haha, that was great, I don't suppose you have any other episodes of Things That Move? If you do I'd love it if you'd post them up! Fantastic. :D

The bell is what makes the Streetcar. not the horn.

The Streetcar HORN does not exactly sounds like in real life, they should be the same as in real life.

What is making the horn on the streetcar sound different?
