you got a windows? if so fuck protools. Get Acid Pro 7.0 it's great, not a resource hog, and it can take almost any audio plugins. If you want that metal feel it would be better to record your vocals at a clean level, then crunch them with a metal pedal plugin and some compression. a walk in closet should do just fine. definitely save up like a hundred bucks and get a good USB mic. I use a samsun N382 USB mic, and it picks up some good ranges. when I got it it was $200, should be hella cheap now

i'ld say try not to distort your voice so much...save that tone switch up and downs for hooks and bridges to give texture to the tracks, but yeye much clown love fer shure

@DoctaBludshedTT there's no need for a vocal booth. I don't use one.. you just need a good mic and a "small room". it really depends on the sound you want. You could use your bathroom (which is what alot of people did back in the day). I do everything in my bedroom, decent size, and not too much reverb off the walls. what software and mic type do you use to record?

@Dirkzero1 IC i to a room but its not smalle. I got a walk in closet, would that help; improve it? I want a metal sound for sometracksk, im mixihng it up if you check out all three of my tracks they are all different styles. I use a webcam Mic ATM i cant affor anything more, and i already know i really need it. I made one of those vocal panel thingies to collect more sound and it works a lil bitter. I use audacity, But recently was told to switch to ProTools. && I appreciate the help!
