If Maidana wouldnt have took those huge body shots he would have had enough power to ko amir khan but if you know about boxing then you will see that he still hurt khan easily even though he was hurt all the way through the fight with a lot less power in his punches after those body shots
Not that I hate on Khan, but I think he has a similar style to David "baby bull" Diaz. He is a volume puncher who's punches really don't pack that sting that will wear down an opponent through out the fight. Those shots weren't anywhere near as devastated as what the reporters have written. Khan has gotten better under Roach, but he is going to have trouble against power punchers that ALSO possess defensive skills. Maidana had none and was forcing Khan to back pedle through out the fight. This is a sign that Khan, himself, is weary of his chin when faced with boxers that hit like a sack of hammers. Roach didn't look all that eladed after the final bell either.

A weak chin signifies a weak bone structure not only at the chin but also his skull. This factor will further disable him as he continues to take shots to the head.

@ahsanrm1987 If your talking about that knockout in the Phillipines, Pac was forced to use heavier gloves than his opponent because he couldn't make weight thus rendering Pac's hands useless. So Pac was the little guy in that fight he lost by knockout. Furthermore, he started boxing when he was 16. So he wasn't even fully developed. When Pac came to the U.S under Roach, he never was knocked down again even though Marquez constantly landed clean shots against him.

I agree that Amir was rocked in 10th round but if you notice, it wasn't referree fault at all, The only time referee seperated them was when maidana punched him on the back of his head. Amir was getting hits but he was responding by either moving away and he did throw some punches back when he was rocked. A fight is stoped when a fighter does not move and keeps getting hit, has 0 response and does not fight back.

Khan was resilient and very well conditioned, maidana looked sluggish but was a beast. I have respect for both of these fighters and I do hope for a rematch.

Not that I hate on Khan, but I think he has a similar style to David "baby bull" Diaz. He is a volume puncher who's punches really don't pack that sting that will wear down an opponent through out the fight. With Maidana who fought a zombie with punching power and he had trouble with him. I don't think Khan is Freddie's "future" as they say. He's good, but I don't see him destined for greatness. Those shots weren't anywhere near as devastated as what the reporters have written. Khan has gotten better under Roach, but he is going to have trouble against power punchers that ALSO possess defensive skills. Maidana had none and was forcing Khan to back pedle through out the fight. This is a sign that Khan, himself, is weary of his chin when faced with boxers that hit like a sack of hammers. Roach didn't look all that eladed after the final bell either.

A weak chin signifies a weak bone structure not only at the chin but also his skull. This factor will further disable him as he continues to take shots to the head.

@ahsanrm1987 If your talking about that knockout in the Phillipines, Pac was forced to use heavier gloves than his opponent because he couldn't make weight thus rendering Pac's hands useless. So Pac was the little guy in that fight he lost by knockout. Furthermore, he started boxing when he was 16. So he wasn't even fully developed. When Pac came to the U.S under Roach, he never was knocked down again even though Marquez constantly landed clean shots against him.

I agree that Amir was rocked in 10th round but if you notice, it wasn't referree fault at all, The only time referee seperated them was when maidana punched him on the back of his head. Amir was getting hits but he was responding by either moving away and he did throw some punches back when he was rocked. A fight is stoped when a fighter does not move and keeps getting hit, has 0 response and does not fight back.

He isn't entirely without blame himself; he should of worked the body early of Khan to prevent the blatant backpeddling he did throughout the fight.

@goodfella30 No i still think khan won a very close fight against flat footed maidana who can only punch . What is khan going to do against bradely? I think khan should take it easy and duck fighters who can beat him at this stage. He is not ready for the big fights.

@goodfella30 Because this isnt just any fight it was a world title defense so the ref normaly will try and let it go on. But also after the 10th the ref did walk over to Khans corner and tell them that he needs to denfend or will be forced to stopping the fight.

@TheDarkemotion21 I am one of those, Khan almost was koed, i expected khan do much better against flat footed maidana. This fight was real close. I dont think khan can last with the likes of bradely in this division. He will be out classed by and koed if he goes up to 147. The kid needs lighter fights and should duck bradely at this stage of his career

referee wins that fight. Khan was nocked out for 30 seconds and not responding. he was holding khan so he woulnt fall. He interfere 3 times to not let maidana finish. Always the money involve.

Referees stop the fight when they know that fighter has nothing left in it. Your comment shows that you were just relying on luck that Referree would stop the fight and you'll say ya Maidana did it, Hes so strong

@vergajo222 While Amir didn't do any of that so its just stupid to say that refferee should have stoped the fight, Yes he was holding and had no power in his legs but that was 5 seconds before the end of the round but he was still moving away. Now what shows that he's a champ is how he took those shots and still didn't fall down.
