im sure it is a good game, but i am an old gamer, and set in my ways, i like the original x-com, playing as the aliens just seems wrong to me,,,, grrrr evil alien blobbies!! i have played x-com since 1992 it is still on my hard drive, i still play sometimes. i would rather play co-op with my buddie and team up on the aliens,,,,grrr i hate those etherial dudes, and the mutons!!!

And from my experience, people who remember X-Com are mature enough to give reasons. However, with the help of the Yogscast, younger people might discover this game now. Not that it's a bad thing.

@93Gamerz Unfortunately, no. This game has 2 modes - hotseat and multiplayer. Both, however, need 2 players. For single plyer, you have to use the good old 'Enemy Unknown'.
@ConradProteus This game developed, so that people would be able to play against each other. Unfortunately the only single player supported is the hotseat mode. If you wish to play the old x-com game, get it from somewhere :). There are plenty of ways to make it work on newer computers and with new operating systems.
