@nitroevaderbx I don't exactly recall, but for the bearings and axle it was way less than $20. But remember my bike is a low end Wal-Mart manufacture.
@DrRayLV Yes, I did put the bearings back without removing the cassette. My bike is a very standard Wal- Mart type of bike. Very easy to work on. You don't need to take of the cassette for these common type of bikes. However, you can buy a special type of socket that can remove the cassette. But be careful about the type of socket you buy. There are numerous types out there. I purchased one and it didn't fit my particular make so I had to get another one. Good luck!
What type of grease did you use? Could you recommend any brands? I am fixing my front wheel hub now but still making a slight grinding noise + tiny tiny vibration
It is so difficult to assemble the bolt at right force(?) . How do you usally do it?
@zoonie00 I'm strictly an amateur mechanic - my bike is a real cheap piece of crap. I just used any bearing grease from a hardware store. I would sugest you make a thorough examination of your bearings, it has to be perfectly round - not deformed. Your bike actually rides on its bearings, a lot of pressure being exerted there.
thanks. great video. this will hopefully help me cuz ive got the exact same issue. how much did the new bearings and shaft cost you?
