Dead rodney! Do u think the LG W2453V-PF will be a good choice for me? I want to use it's hdmi for xbox360(i dont know how will run xbox360 at 1920x1080 resolution), and the DVI for the computer (gaming, movies).
this is probably a dumb question but hey this is youtube so ill ask it anyways, i was wondering besides the connections is there any other reason why a monitor would not be complient with a tower?
@SEAWEEDER1 really? you just named everything i was wanting. haha. actually, i want something that is awesome for film first, and then ps3 games. i'll check out that alba, though.
I want to buy a 27" LCD and I want to be sure that it's NOT Twisted Nematic. On newegg I found several 27"-s but cannot guess which type of screen they have. Manufacturers often don't clearly write this in specifications. Only in ASUS 27" reviews I found one guy saying that it's TN.
So, can you advise me which 27" LCD to buy up to $500 which will NOT be TN?
@gijs370 you must have had a faulty screen then as mine is perfect, yes it has a slight back-light bleeding problem at 100% brightness, but who sits in the dark with it at 100% brightness anyway ? - someone asking for bad eye strain thats who.
to get a perfectly bleed free screen your looking at spending 1k+
this guy knows what he is talking about. i actually got the lp2475w from watching his videos and his video on lcd tech. ips has opened my eyes and i can now see why they are so expansive compare to a tn
I have 2x Samsung 970P and bought one LP2475w as a replacement. The 970P (PVA panel) looks the same from almost every angle, the LP2475w starts to dimm just like an TN panel as seen in this example
I wanted one of these for so long and I'm finally using one RIGHT NOW after it came into my price range. I got a deal on the Dell 3008WFP from Rochester Computer for $1,409.00. URLs work in these comments, but their phone number is 800.394.8404.
Hell yea Xenodamus! I still have my 17" trinitron from 5 years ago and I'm not departing with it till it breaks. It has the best blacks I have ever seen to date and the pixel pitch is fantastic!
My main gripe with LCD monitors is that colors DO NOT look the same from all angles. If you look at it from slightly above or below, the colors will look noticibly different, so you can't truly trust LCD screens when making graphics. What looks nice on your screen will look noticibly different on someone else's screen.
Also, there's definitely more motion blur than on a CRT, but it's not enough to bother me at 2 or 5ms. I play TF2 and other online games and it never bothered me.
I have an old CRT / tube television from Sony as my monitor.
LCD's contain flourescent bulbs that contain Mercury, which is highly toxic if it ever leaks. Plus, the use of mercury means that it probably can emit UV radiation if the coating ever wears out on the bulb.
Thx for choosing the Viewsonic VX 1940 w. i already own the LCD . I researched lot before buying it. Its 33% brighter than Standard LCD, 3000:1, 2ms. 1680X0000 .. Close to Full HD.
I really liked that you mentioned the Dell 3008WFP, i've been looking at that quite alot myself, mainly because of the numerous connection options it provides, as well as the very impressive stats for such a large display
It really depends on how far you are away from the screen and your application. True movie buffs will want a 42"+ LCD TV for a HTPC setup. For a computer setup I would get a 24"+ LCD.
i have a 22" Viewsonic..i dont know the specific model name. i got it for $189.99 off newegg. Its full 1080P HD certified, DVI/VGA (no hdmi unforuntatley, the more expensive version of mine has it) and a native res of 1920x1080
mate if you want the best of the best go with the 30" NEC 3090WQXi, H-IPS panel ABSOLUTELLY destroys any monitor, this includes the TN Gateway XHD3000 and even the S-IPS-powereds Dell 3008WPF and 3007WPF-HC.

Amazed the ASUS V(K)266H wasn't mentioned. It has VGA, DVI, HDMI and Component input. I have a PS2 and Wii hooked up to it through a component switch and am using my laptop through HDMI. The viewing angles are good enough for my head to be completely off the left or right side 4-5 feet back (my wall doesn't extend much more), and it has a 2ms response time, decent brightness and great contrast. What's not to like about it?
Because the ASUS V(K)266H LCd has a TN panel. VA and IPS panels are best overall for movies, photography & gaming. Trust me, once you go VP or IPS you won't go back! Please watch my #152 - Q&A: LCD Technologies (TN, VA & IPS) Video.
Ah. I actually picked it up the '266H based off of side-by-side comparison with other LCD's...including ones mentioned. I wouldn't use it for super-finicky photo editing, but it works just fine for head-on gaming and movies, and has a completely reasonable price for its screen size. The component input also gives people a good alternative to an AV receiver, and I'm surprised why it isn't available in more monitors.
I have the Samsung 2253BW. Only thing I don't like about it is the relatively low view angles. Aside from that, it's a great monitor, with fast response times and picture quality.
It's probably a good monitor, but nobody I know in the business has had a great experience with the company's support. 6ms also turns some gamers away.
The 24" HP LCD is way too expensive, I recommend the new BenQ 16:9 HD Series or the 24 HP with glare display. Half of the price and have a sexy look. Both running on fullHD.
The HP is designed to reproduce much better and accurate color with amazing quality. You can't say that it is expensive, not when you compare it to the competitors (Dell 2408wfp etc). I have it, and I can tell it's worth every single penny!
haha, i love how you talk.. I just want to know if that's how you talk, like at a lunch meeting, or something.. lol.. do you read stuff off of the menu like that?
wich display teknik is the best for getting realy vivid images and for decrease the blur on movies? tn, va or ips?

Actually the HP LP2475w is a horrible screen. The screen glows in dark area's.
TFT Central did mention this obvious flaw but said that it is only visible when viewed from extreme angels. This is simply not true.
You will notice the glow even if you are sitting perfect in front of the screen.

CRT glass is under about a ton of pressure and contains lead to absorb most of the radiation.
The amount of UV an LCD emits is negligible.
