  • hey Gigabyte guy, would you please enlighten me on how I might go about plugging the fan, the memory modules (and how the groove actually is what allows the module to be DIRECTLY plugged in) and the power connector INDIRECTLY? Props also for NOT showing the installation of the SSD in favour of your face.

Quite a disappointment from such a reputable company as Gigabyte.

  • We can help you set it up.

  • No sound card in a pc made for Music and Movies...

  • @ht448 HDMI, digital audio out and 7.1 surround sound on the motherboard!

  • @ht448 you have a brain mate

  • just buy a ps3...

  • @kitrow2247 And whine in comments "what mod are you using, PC players".

  • Anyone know where I can get this board in the UK? Don't mind if its used...

  • how much for this setup?

  • @hadtke To me it would be more logical to buy a AMD A6-3650 or whatever the name is and be done with it. Higher power consumption, but a faster unit.

  • List of parts please!

  • Windows media centre...(shudders)

  • taller ram than cpu heatsink

  • media center is retarded

  • just buy it

  • @XChickeNTenderSX my ssd is faster then your hdd i will nvr go back to hard disk drive as a boot drive

  • 7:15 if only installing things in real life was this fast

  • Any body know a link to the case please.

  • the most moronic buid i have ever seen,

i give that system a short shelf life.

intel new inter-graded graphics sucks, they should of never implemented them into the cpu's.

i would rather go with a mid tower to a frag box build for media center pc's at the same price and more powerful.

  • *Note* he probably reduced the life of all of his components due the static electric damage.

  • @codeShima sorry for stereotyping/racism if you feel offended

  • why he is using ssd instead of hdd?

you can put alot of videos there.

  • @qingqingyep SSD for speed, external usb3 for storage

  • @PeruchoAngel Or do they?

  • Is it just me or was he being pretty careless with that hardware? Touching all the metal contacts, not grounding himself, not laying he motherboard on its anti-static bag... I'd hate to sound all parental, but it's not setting a good example for newbie PC builders :B Just all seems a bit slap-dash.

  • @thetoobnoob

    1. as long as he is not touching any conductive surfaces, grounding oneself is not needed.

    2. you should not lay the motherboard on the Anti static bag, as it is conductive on the outside. if you power up a system for testing, while it is on the anti static bag, you will fry the motherboard.

    ----------------------

What is up with the ram he uses? Corsair Dominator GT 2400Mhz ram for a HT pc... lol

  • @pangeltveit

    1. It doesn't matter whether he's touching conductive surfaces or not. If you're handling PC components, it's just good practice to ground yourself by touching the case or using a wrist strap.

2.Fair enough, I didn't know about that. But I wasn't referring to powering up while laid on the bag, just between getting the Motherboard out of the box and into the case

  • suddenly got the urge for japaneese food and sex

  • Lol dominator gt in a htpc? pft

  • Forget Windows 7 and Windows Media Centre, id be using XBMC Live

  • are they laughing during a action scene from Clash of the Titans lol?

  • @DarkMerchant2222 i was just thinking that lol :p

  • SSD and external HDD??? what is the point? and there is free PCI x16 - so use internal tv card...

  • Looks like a nice setup but I'm surprised it worked and wonder how long it will last. Someone needs to teach this "Technical Marketing Manager" about ESD, he obviously knows far more about marketing than the technical part.

  • "make sure i don't ding anything"... proceeds to make a sound with the motherboard like banging pans together while he haphazardly shuffles it around in there. good thing it's durable i guess.

  • @mgut17 "ssd in a htpc, what a waste"...actually, its not, i use a 64gb ssd for quick boots of win7...its super fast on load times...i use another 1tb green drive for recording to. so an ssd is not a waste

  • lol a ssd in a htpc, what a waste

  • is it just me or did the ram say 2400mhz???

  • Nice compact motherboard for a nice fit in a small case! Nice job

  • how can this be a high end pc if it use onboard graphic card

  • @alle71 high end HTPC

  • The case is Luxa2 and its $600! The guy is living in a fantasy seriously... Luxa2, SSD, Dominator, i3, and optical blu-ray! This has overkill written all over it!

I built my HTPC on a $350 budget with a AMD X3 3.2GHz, GIGABYTE GA-880GM, 2TB HDD, 4GB RAM, all packed nicely inside a nMEDIAPC HTPC 5000B. I already had a power supply and dvd-writer. It now acts as my NAS (WHS) and Media center (XBMC). Consumes 32W while playing 1080p. Thats $9/year for electricity with always-on. And it is quiet...

  • @efrancesco Excellent setup there. Fantastic choice of motherboard too. Agree this guy has just gone overkill. I use an Athlon II X2 and its more than enough. All built for less than £200 ($310)!!

  • what case is that?

  • and the audio??? u need a 5.1

  • Gigabyte Make Sure to Provide the comfortable ways to all users so they decide to give +1 extra asian free for real overclock when you just relaxing >> xD lol ^___^

  • woot seczi asian at the end

  • RAM and SSD are overkill for that combo. But if you'd put in a GTX 590 then it's be a great gaming PC. Nice chick by the way.

  • u need new shoes

  • Lol @ ending!!

  • how many watts does the psu have???

  • btw... the end was just creepy

  • Wait wait wait... your going to fast! Where do I put the motherboard?

  • Was not expecting the video to end in chauvinism. :3

  • yeah but its a promotion video so there going to use shit that noobs will buy an spend outrages amounts of money. why cant they make a video with good cheap and quick parts.

  • Holy Moly!!! 2400 Mhz Dominator GT modules! That's soooooo overkill for an HTPC.

  • buy a ps3, its cheaper, easier to install , will play everythng you throw at it and also you can do gaming

  • that ram will probably not fit in some HTPC cases. besides the price. HTPCs are supposed to be sorta cheap. Not with SSDs, Dominator GT ram,

  • @BenHanna7 the mobo is only ~$100

  • @ASAWProductions Yes, so the fact that 4GB of ram costs more than the mobo is a little overkill. Get it?

  • actually, actually, actually, actually.....

  • Is this mobo made mainly for HTPCs? or does it have the power to be actually a PC and be able to do the normal tasks? (browsing, writing, maybe audio and video editing, photoshop, and gaming with a decent video card since it has a PCI-E slot) Thanks

  • install off the cd....?

    never do that...use updated drivers

  • @infrinous19 it downloads the drivers from the CD software, so it is actually updating

  • I think it would be better served to focus the camera on the computer when he is working on it rather than his face.....

  • This is a very nice setup and full of great ideas for build up a HTPC,Thanx

  • 5:11 - 5:22 Just curious...where does the motherboard go again? LOL

  • if you are using blue-ray HQ video's you're better of with a cheaper cpu and a equally priced gpu and not that amount of mem...

  • connect it to the network god !!!!!

    ROFL...

  • The Graphics core is not integrated into the CPU core. The graphics core lives next to the CPU core. It is a two die on single package system. The 32nm process GPU does not share a core with the 45nm CPU. Merely the package.

  • id rather look at the installing of components rather than look at that guy trying to install components

  • Well the amount of Copper in the motherboard has nothing to do with the durability of the board... Marketing BS!

  • why are you using extreme ram on htpc ?!?!

  • @BenHanna7 see title pls.. High End!

  • @selikatwo Yeah I see that, but what benefit is Dominator GTX ram going to bring to the playback of movies?

  • @BenHanna7 haha...i don't know....

  • is there any programs like Boxee for PC?

  • In my opinion

2x2Gb value ram should be enough for HTPC system

  • really was the corsair gt ram needed ?...

  • now we need to install the operating system

    "loading"

so now that the operating system is installed...

  • Dominator GT w/ a USB TV tuner...wow...not being able to utilize the PCIe-x16 slot is fail imo as well. If you want to build a high end HTPC, most power users will be looking at the Ceton InfiniTV 4 as well...I think this video should be redone - this system is extremely low end other than the memory & ssd...

  • Whats the power consumption of the motherboard? I know the cpu, ram, dvdrw, psu overhead, power consumption is the next game in the ballpark....

  • @TheRaawan i dont think so...i dunno about gigabyte having many mini-atx boards for amd but if the case supports micro-atx there are a variety of boards to choose from...

  • What was the name of the case again?

  • What was the case name again?

  • can any1 tell me wat power supply to use for that motherborad plz :)

  • Them small motherboards look so funny (:

  • i think it is just for demo.

  • I think they just use the ram for demo, so i don;t think they want you to use that ram.

  • SSD, hi-end memory and USB TV-tuner? lol, you have an free PCI-E x16 port. External drive to transfer data between PCs? pft, connect it to the network god

  • @ThinkLearnSolve why they didn't add a 430 low-profile i dont know. they made everything else over kill. Intel HD graphics are probably the major bottleneck here....

  • Corsair must have Bribed him to use a 2400MHz Dominator GT for a HTPC

  • I thought you couldn't watch Blu-ray movies in WMC. That's really the only reason I haven't bought a drive for it yet.

  • Marketing at its best,,,,

  • Very nice setup. Great information for a person looking to build a HTPC.
