I commented on your video about a year ago, when I first found this video. I'm still impressed by it now. It makes it more special for me now, because I soon will be a father to a baby girl. I only hope that she will grow to be as sweet as you are and maybe she'll make a documentary about me being a truck driver aslo =) The opening song is PERFECT for this piece of work! This video will forever be a stronghold in my favorites. Keep up the good work!!!
Would just like to say thanks for postin this vid on here :) not often ya find people supportin truck drivers, Well supportin ya dad but :) still a very very ausome vid 5/5 and a very gd thanks to all you truckers out there :)

hey my dads a truck driver too he drives a 5 tone strait body and i understand how proud u are of ur dad because i go with my dad as often as i can and i mextremly proud of him, and i hope to become a truck driver my self one day
Just had to say, Love your video!!! And it shows how much you love your dad and how much he loves you and your family, getting home every night to be with you all. You did a great job of documenting the life of truckers, though not all of us have to fingerprint loads (I do though...lol)and apreciation of the little things. Please keep up the good work. It was great!! Kudos to you and your dad!!
I am an over the road trucker...I would like to commend you on your great photography. You captured things that we sometimes take for granted. If I can pass on just a little advice...one thing we never talk about is our load and what we deliver...especially when it comes to the defense department...just a thought. Fantastic documentary...
during the summer when i was 6 , id go with my dad to go trucking with him, and wouldnt come back for 2 months, since it was pretty lonely for him. nice job on the vid, was he ever a on the road trucker?
I have done the same thing as your Dad, but for ABF for almost 10 years. And it is really touching that you appreciate what he has done for his family. And know how to make such a great video. Thank you!
such a good vid for so many reasons wow!i dont mean to be a hack bit i have a truckin vid you might like check it out if you like .thank for the cool vid
That's a great video! I'm proud of you for being so proud of your dad. I raised my family by driving big rigs and I always tell story to my wife of all my good experiences along the road and as a trailer driver waiting for her response if she will be proud of me. (?) well, you really appreciate your dad's job and I hope that my kids will appreciate me too someday. Being a trailer driver is not that easy but I really enjoy of being it. More power to you & to your Dad.. FILIPINO TRUCKER
You did a WONDERFUL job on this video. You have a magic way with words and putting them together with the photos. I loved it! Your love for your dad also was so apparent. That was beautiful.
Great Job on the video. I am a Dockworker\Hostler at Chicago Ridge. (CGB) You really have shown what it's like to work for a company as great as Yellow I hook the trucks to the trailers for our over the road drivers as well as our city drivers. Without good city drvers like your dad there would be alot of people out of jobs please thank him from myself and all the employee's at CGB.
Wow!! Amazing video! I work in customer service in Sioux Falls for Yellow. We heard about the video and everyone has been watching it and talking about how great it is! It's so neat to see his part of the job, it's hard to imagine what he does when you sit in a cubical all day attached to a headset! Tell your dad to keep up the great work and thank him from everyone in Sioux Falls! A++ on the video! You have a lot of talent!
After seeing this video I can only wish that all Terminal Managers would take the time to view it. As a fellow Teamster driver for Yellow for 22 years I have been disapointed that our boss doesn't show the thanks, appreciation, and graditude we do everyday.
It is a joy to see a young person that understands the life we live and even shares it the way you have. Thank you a million miles over. TheGMan430
I work at Yellow in the office, and I know who your father is. I especially appreciate the warmth, respect, and love that you express for your father in this video! That is beautiful. This is a wonderful video. Thank you for sharing. (Love the music, too!) You definitely have artistic talent. Keep up the good work.
I work for Yellow Transportation in the offices. Thank you for sharing what the drivers encounter daily. In the time I have worked her, the stereotypes I had of truck drivers have melted away. Hopefully now everyone can see that they are just doing theor jobs to take care of theor families.
Maria,it has been a few months since I watched your video, and again it deeply touched my heart. So another great big thank you to you. You are BLESSED . As a retired Teamster I wish I had your insight and appreciation when I was your age.
Does your dad have the same route area everyday? I`m in the process of getting my CDL and I was wondering if Yellow is a good company to drive for? How good of eye sight do you need to be a trucker I`ve had 2 corneal transplants one in each eye I`m seeing better but I still have trouble seeing at night especially when its raining and during the day I can`t read the street signs from a block away. Im thinking about getting my CDL any advice people
I am not sure. I think it depends on the day, and of course the number of hours worked. I think I detailed most of the stops he made the day I went with him in this video so counting them up would give a rough estimate.
Incerdbile work! This video makes me so proud of myself and my career as a truck driver. Granted, I deliver Budweiser locally in Roseville, California, and never drive more than 80 miles in a day, but it still makes proud of that special piece of plastic in my wallet. Thanks for sharing your father's story with the rest of the world!
hi nice choice of music it opens your soul. as for the content i always wondered what a city driver did. now i know. i am a truck driver but of a different sort.and yes the bright orange is warming and catchy.
Yay you! I'm glad I remembered to look this up. This was awesome! Very well done. Great photography, too. And don't worry, I've never been scared off by bright clothing or kooky tastes in music. ;)
Great Video ... Accurate ... Precise and Thoughful. The best trucking company and union in the country .... Yellow Freight and the Teamsters Union. Together, over the years they have made many good business decisions ... and I will always use Yellow Freight.
This was a wonderful tribute to your father, and to all truck drivers! Too many people fail to realize the true impact truck drivers have on our country. My grandfather was a truck driver for 46 years, and I have often thought about following in his path.
im a truck driver from philippines and im trucking for almost 15 years,im very impressed for what have you shared, very nice video and narration, your dad must be very very proud of you as well....and the rest of the truckers...tnx a lot...
I have been driving for 32 years, and it is a profession, that once you have done it for a few years, it is hard to get out of your system and do anything else.
Great video and great insight. I work for yellow in Portland, Oregon. My Father also works there. :) Your Dad and those P&D Drivers are hard workers. Much respect! Your also the small percentage of people who don't have to ask why Yellow is orange. :)
As a Union worker from Canada who works for a subsiduary of YRCW I wish this video was shown to all the Executives and Shareholders of YRC and why not all of the Politicians who are trying to open the borders to allow a 'free flow of labour' to diminsh what we drivers and dockworkers accomplish.
I think of all the films made about trucking that totally miss the mark, "White Line Fever", "Smokey & the Bandit", "Duel" and "Convoy"; just to name a few. Not only have you hit the bulls eye; you've done it in a way that almost defies description. You are truly an artist. The beautiful video and narration is very definition of "Poetry in Motion". Thank You.
hi there.....frank from ireland ...a little note to say what a fantastic insight to a job well done .i know a saying..a picture posts many words...and this is so so true.......bye now
Deceptively simple. Beautiful images and a narration that carefully echoes, parallels, and adds to them. A minimalist writer turns to video. What a find.
My dad emailed me this video. He has worked for Yellow for as long as I can remember (over 21 years). Growing up I used to yell "Yellow Freight" everytime I saw one of the orange trucks drive by until it dissapered out of sight. This video made me think of all the wonderful memories of being a lil kid again, how hard my dad works as a over the road driver, and how much I respect and love him! Thank You! Ps Till this day my favorite color is orange :)
I work for Yellow in Texas. I have been with the company for 25 years. It is wonderful that you love and respect your father and the job he does. So many people think that city drivers just drive around all day, they never see us loading and unloading, fighting that rig into many different loading-docks. And I won't EVEN start about the way some of the passenger cars treat us. Good job, young lady. You have honored your father as well as 1000's of other truck drivers.
I work at the Detroit terminal for Yellow. This is a great thing you have done for your father and he should be very proud of you. Thank You so much for the nice video. I am sure all the employees at Yellow apreciate this as much as I do.
I work for Yellow at the LCP terminal and Yellow is a great company to work for too. It is great you honored your father with this video and I am sure he is proud of your work as well. Nice job!!!
Without Trucks...America (or anywhere) Stops!! I will always respect what truck drivers do (it aint easy). I'm out of the truck for now, but hope to get back behind the wheel once the grandkids get older (they live with us). God bless you, your dad, and all the truckers out there keeping the economy moving. el Gato Negro
Wow really good. I am a teacher but am also a trucker on the weekends and holidays. I am going to show your video to the kids tomorrow it was awesome. Thanks :)
i thought your documentory was very nice. yellow drivers are known to be seasoned and experienced drivers. they are the last ones to see in a wreck yet the only ones to run in the most severe of weather conditions. i also liked the music. you must love your dad an awful lot.
Yellow was the 10th of 10 trucking companies I worked for before I retired. 7 of those companies went belly-up. Yellow is a great company to work for. Great video.
