This is really where my game fails. I can do the best combos that have been discovered, at a great consistency with both Doom & Dante in training but in a real match online I fail alot. @TheSaggyMaster I know it sounds like a troll. but you cant learn good execution playing on unstable internet connections. You need to play against people in person. Its amazing how much better you can get just playing next to someone, being able to tell their reactions to your teams, your moves, your combos, and your playstyle. Find a way to play in person, it will help you tons being able to play against a human with lagless input. Your online play will get better as a result.

watching it so far, i would advise that you always use Arthur in training. Hes smaller than amaterasu (x-23's C, cr.C misses him) and if you wanna be super safe with your combos... you should (ab)use him.

@nickhoksbergen Comebacks from characters such as Haggar or Tron result from the player in the lead playing recklessly, and overall not following the rules (attacking Haggar, etc.). It's definitely possible, but for all intents and purposes the match is over against a good player. Count how many matches Tron comes in by herself and loses vs. how many she wins. It's a pretty clear cut percentage.

It's disappointing that others think he's so awesome, when in fact he pointed out the difficulty he has controlling iron-man, which in my opinion is a simple char to use and I never gave trouble with the timing of his combos. Of course this explains why he moved to haggar for tournament. It's kinda sad that so many "Good" players use only easy to use characters or simple setup chars.
@strafefire I never said he didn't have a good sense of battle strategy, but he does use simple to maneuver characters for his mains, like Wesker, the meter builder; and Phoenix, the spamming x-factor lvl3 demolisher. Who also happens to have the easiest setups for combos of any character in the game, and she has like 35 different ways to setup a punishable incorrect block, whereas Wesker has only about 4 that are punishable.
@Night5FOX Viscant is an amazing player because he knows this game, it doesn't matter how well you can pull off a combo if you have no idea what the other person is gonna do. Viscant is most likely the smartest MvC3 player out there, so just because you can use iron man and he can't doesn't mean that he is a bad player. I can use a team of ryu thor and wesker but I prefer to use a team of Wesker Haggar Pheonix becuase it feels better to me, does that make me a bad player?

If he hasn't spent the 10 minutes in training mode to figure out the proper series, I'd be ashamed.
I'm surprised the combo advice in this is so bad. Having easy-mode combos to fall back on when more damage isn't required is great and all, even if it results in building less meter(something they never mention)...
But trying resets on their last character is stupid, flat out. Wesker can kill anyone, even Thor, when he's got 4+ bars, level 1 x-factor, and two teammates to DHC in to. It's not difficult at all.

Oh I sold my soul and picked up Wesker. Holy shit, i didnt know what i was missing. I wouldve stuck with She Hulk if I could do Clakey D combos with Tron, but as it is, my team is now Wesker, Morrigan, Phoenix
after watching this, i almost feel like i have to sell my soul to be good at this game even though i dont want to. originally i have zero, spencer, ironman but after this, i need to replace ironman with sentinal lolz. reason is that ironman does NO GOOD to this team and i cant figure out which character can help out zero as battery and spencer as a user
@OverKiiiillll I know what you mean on selling your soul, I actually switched to Wesker/Dante/Sentinel today and I've never won so much (Note: I've used wesker for like 10 minutes) my original team kept loosing against Cr.A spammers, super spammers/beginners, its really hard to win. Your team is great, although yea switch Iron man. ( Actually Viscant Switched Iron man too, he switched to Tron/Amazing assist) I don't like Sentinel at all, but I'm using him for his assist myself.

I feel like I learned a lot (hit deterioration) but a lot of it is not going to apply to me - I've played about 180 matches or so and I still don't feel like I've really found my team, I need like a whole video on team synergy, because Magneto/Hulk/Sentinel doesn't feel solid at all.
How come no one mentioned recording the training dummy for practice? Gootecks talks about doing it for Super in the "how to prepare for a major" video but it's in marvel too. I just realized it's there and have been practicing against the Wesker Gunshot + assist, Phantom move mixup. I think it's great. You could probably also use it to help practice escaping Viscant's insane corner resets.
To do recording, go into controller config in training mode and assign the recording stuff to buttons.
@ozzyo602 i don't link wesker's OTG with disruptor he's more of an assist. i stick with the pheonix option. magneto is more to do both jobs at assist and user. basically.

@NinjaOnWheels Press two attack buttons after blocking something. You push the character who attacked you with the trade-off of more recovery time in block.
@NinjaOnWheels - pressing 2 attack buttons simultaneously does a dash normally, but does a push block while blocking. to do a hyper combo you have to do a directional (joystick) input first, like QuarterCircleFoward (fireball) and 2 attacks.
@NinjaOnWheels - basically it's when you super jump and then immediately dash back down. it's a jump attack overhead that must be blocked high, but it's much faster than simply jumping and attacking.
you should check out eventhubs(dot)com or shoryuken(dot)com. they have very detailed guides for various levels of skill, character specific guides, and a glossary of all the terms and acronyms. gamefaqs(dot)com's mvc3 forums are also a good place to ask questions, just beware the elitists.
i really enjoyed the music/score selection used for this tutorial. could you guys post a link/url, if there is one, where the music/score can be downloaded? i'd appreciate that a lot. thanks for the tutorial.

It takes me about 4 hours or less to play 50-60 matches. And the people I've seen in the leaderboards don't even come close, then again I don't really trust the leaderboards, some people have more than 700 wins, and only 1 loss. Go figure.

Sometimes people over-analyze and just forget that it was simply about experience, which in most cases practice trumps training. I usually know why I lose online, & it's often very difficult to replicate it with a dummy/AI. Training for better execution and combos options is great, but on top of that, real bouts are the best teachers.

@Night5FOX He used three assist character during EVO 2011: Hagger, Iron Man, and Tron.
He used Hagger when fighting rushdown heavy teams.
He used Iron Man when fighting Keep Away teams.
And he used Tron when he fought teams where he did not know the match because he never played against the character before (Hsien-Ko, Arthur, etc.)
So yes, he did use Iron man, just not all the time.

Oh I sold my soul and picked up Wesker. Holy shit, i didnt know what i was missing. I wouldve stuck with She Hulk if I could do Clakey D combos with Tron, but as it is, my team is now Wesker, Morrigan, Phoenix

after watching this, i almost feel like i have to sell my soul to be good at this game even though i dont want to. originally i have zero, spencer, ironman but after this, i need to replace ironman with sentinal lolz. reason is that ironman does NO GOOD to this team and i cant figure out which character can help out zero as battery and spencer as a user

@OverKiiiillll I know what you mean on selling your soul, I actually switched to Wesker/Dante/Sentinel today and I've never won so much (Note: I've used wesker for like 10 minutes) my original team kept loosing against Cr.A spammers, super spammers/beginners, its really hard to win. Your team is great, although yea switch Iron man. ( Actually Viscant Switched Iron man too, he switched to Tron/Amazing assist) I don't like Sentinel at all, but I'm using him for his assist myself.

@BryanV4 depending on my mood of the day, the amount of self respect i have and how much respect i have for y opponent, i will only use sentinel for assists and if both my battery(zero) and my user(spencer), i'll just let him take my sentinel because i dont want to be gay and get an easy level 3 xfactor sentinel win. but yea this is only when i have a really good day and on a good mood. i learned my lesson after watching marvelous adventures. sentinel HAS to be in my team and i cant win without

I feel like I learned a lot (hit deterioration) but a lot of it is not going to apply to me - I've played about 180 matches or so and I still don't feel like I've really found my team, I need like a whole video on team synergy, because Magneto/Hulk/Sentinel doesn't feel solid at all.

How come no one mentioned recording the training dummy for practice? Gootecks talks about doing it for Super in the "how to prepare for a major" video but it's in marvel too. I just realized it's there and have been practicing against the Wesker Gunshot + assist, Phantom move mixup. I think it's great. You could probably also use it to help practice escaping Viscant's insane corner resets.
To do recording, go into controller config in training mode and assign the recording stuff to buttons.

@ozzyo602 i don't link wesker's OTG with disruptor he's more of an assist. i stick with the pheonix option. magneto is more to do both jobs at assist and user. basically.

@NinjaOnWheels Press two attack buttons after blocking something. You push the character who attacked you with the trade-off of more recovery time in block.

@NinjaOnWheels - pressing 2 attack buttons simultaneously does a dash normally, but does a push block while blocking. to do a hyper combo you have to do a directional (joystick) input first, like QuarterCircleFoward (fireball) and 2 attacks.

@NinjaOnWheels - basically it's when you super jump and then immediately dash back down. it's a jump attack overhead that must be blocked high, but it's much faster than simply jumping and attacking.
you should check out eventhubs(dot)com or shoryuken(dot)com. they have very detailed guides for various levels of skill, character specific guides, and a glossary of all the terms and acronyms. gamefaqs(dot)com's mvc3 forums are also a good place to ask questions, just beware the elitists.

It takes me about 4 hours or less to play 50-60 matches. And the people I've seen in the leaderboards don't even come close, then again I don't really trust the leaderboards, some people have more than 700 wins, and only 1 loss. Go figure.

@Xecutionner2K You shouldn't do that. Well, take my word with a grain of salt because I don't know anything about you, nor how you play, nor you winning ratio.
Sometimes people over-analyze and just forget that it was simply about experience, which in most cases practice trumps training. I usually know why I lose online, & it's often very difficult to replicate it with a dummy/AI. Training for better execution and combos options is great, but on top of that, real bouts are the best teachers.
