So I've been working on this school project: illustrating several Romantic poems. This particular selection of music really helped me out and inspired me when I was working on Lines by Percy Bysshe Shelly.

Let's say that I have some video footage that I want to set to some form of ambient music in order to set a VERY SPECIFIC tone for the next scene. One that doesn't fit neatly into any ambient category. How do I:

A) Selecting the ideal artist who produces the kind I'm after.

B) Selecting the ideal song by said artist without listening to every one of their songs.

You won't gonna find a concret project that plays only insolationism, even LULL don't play exclusively insolationism. You must listen careful, and eventually you will find a song with this feelings.

Check Soviet France, Jim O'Rourke, Nijiumu or Seefeel...

Thomas Koner music is mainly "Ambient" music...soft or pasive pieces...and sometimes Minimalistic...

isolationism in the context of "one self" makes us feel, isolated/alone, and helpless, but, in the the context of "two" or "a group", it makes us feel, self aware, possibly, alert, watchful and the great thing is, that when your in an unheighted state i.e, "half asleep", you listen to this music, and you experience lucid dreams/lucid dreaming, careful, thay can turn to nght terrors/ but generally the story within the song, is relseased into your imagination... blissful

Exactly! I have a really sick fascination with Silent Hill, and 2 was the best game. Akira Yakamora (sp?) is a brilliant ambient composer when it comes to setting dark, tense moods.

Lustmord... he uses a lot of the same horns/pipes in his tracks.. I always picture a demonlike warrior playing bagpipes towards an invaders fortress, with a military flag freshly punted into the dirt... a nightmarish touch to the whole scene... bette yet, not a demonlike touch on the warrior.. just pure anger. The scene is in a hilled misty landscape...

An unspoken fascination and love for the world they live in. Makes me think of old indian civilizations. Have you ever played SWAT 4 computer game? If not, I tell you in short: it's a tactical shooter. There are several missions in which your team must rescue hostages and capture/kill terrorists. 2 mission are pretty scary: in hospital and serial killer house. Guess what is the music...
