The song is possible to figure out by ear I did it when it was first released.They didn't have video games and stupid shit like guitar hero to occupy your time with.What else were you going to do besides learn things.

It is true as well as little are capable of spending so much time on the guitar as on the vidéo games.My job is guitar teacher and I have no guitar students who joined my school after having played Guitar hero.

@Linkinaddict88 Thought I was alone there for a second. Guitar Hero doesn't give you anything else but speed, and that's why I had lots more trouble with basic chords starting up than, well, solos.

Even almost two years after picking up a real guitar, if someone asks me to do rhythm, I say "f**k you" and play lead instead.

PS: not bashing Guitar Hero here, in fact, if it wasn't for the speed acquired from spending time into forever on that game, I'd never be able to play 2/3 of this vid.

On the matter of figuring fast licks out by ear, I think the key is to familiarize yourself enough with the "tricks" (dtypes of arpeggio etc.) of each guitarist . Eventually with enough experience you recognize them by ear when they are implemented. That is what worked for me in the pre-Windows media era...
