  • Seems legit.

  • How about the circle step,reverse step,T-stand,side nuetral,Half step,flying entry technics,Only seen in high level Wing Chun.All stances are basic level' but if you bolt yourself down to the ground you are not useing theory of (whatever comes let it come)absorbing footwork. Instead you meet force against force. Think about the mobility side of Wing Chun taught only at a high level. These stances are from mainland China.

  • Hi Sifu Sergio,

    Thanks for the explanation, but I am still unsure of the differences between the 2 stances. From what I see, it looks like the second stance is a bit wider and the feet are more parallel. More of a practical fighting stance than the first training stance? Thank you again.

  • mai avia visto arbuli a forma i minkia...

  • Yi = Two

    Ji = character

    Yim = clamping

    Yeung = Goat

    Ma = Stance

    The Chinese character is written with two parallel lines which is more like the second stance which is shown. You called it

    Kay = Stand

    Leung = Dragon

    Ma = Stance

    When you turn the toes in it makes the Chinese character Bart - eight ?????

  • where does anyone need that for??

  • I've learned to keep my knees as close to each other that you can have just a fist in between, as protection for the painful and male part. I was surprised this guy has like.. 3 fists space

  • what?

  • in karate it's called sanchin-dachi I think

  • There seem to be a lot of Wing Chun lovers over here, so I think this is a good place to ask my question.

    Is Wing Chun something of a combat sport in the category like boxing, muay thai, brazilian jiu-jitsu or is it purely a way of exercising?

  • @ Robert

    It is mainly self-defense, because it includes techniques that would be forbidden in sport. Usually a fight in Wing Chun does not take longer than a few seconds: once a Wing Chung fighter starts he will end the fight as quickly as possible as it would be useful in a self-defense situation.

  • hey its me pave from facebook

  • I love Wing Chun!

  • *likes* thanks for posting

  • Thanks for the explanation! i always get confused with the two basic stances. Now its cleared a bit, thanks !

  • Great Explanation Sifu Sergio!

  • Just a quick question here but what are your thoughts on mobility when being in a stance? Sometimes I feel like I'm suck in certain stances and more freely in others.
