It's quite clear Kathy Cloninger CEO of Girl Scouts has maybe eating a few too many cookies, but that is not the point. We are not teaching children good values by selling unhealthy cookies when 8/10 people in the USA is overweight. Girl scouts should be selling something healthy or something that benefits people. People would still buy it, after all, people buy cookies to help the girl scouts. Until people learn to eat junk food in moderation, no more cookie sales!
My troops have consistently earned $3,000 to $5,000 in profit from cookie sales for the past nine years. All of our activities and trips are supported by this leadership and business experience, we will be expecting your donation this year .....
It's terrific that you raised so much money that supports the activities and trips! I love the girl scouts....my daughters were girl scouts and my wife a troop leader. However, I do not support the sales of unhealthy foods, especially in view ofthe USA obesity epidemic. Unfortunately, I see patients every day who have preventable, chronic health problems from unintelligent food and lifestyle choices. All I ask for is a reformulation to a healthier cookie and a response from corporate GSA!
I stopped buying the cookies over a decade ago, and convinced my immediate family members to do the same. Totally agree with you, if they had a healthier version would reconsider.
Thank you. I would like to support you in informing the public on healty food choices. Let me know what I can do.
