This may be a dumb question, but would that M-Audio controller be able to arpeggiate the various patches of the MachFive program? If not, what would be a suitable controller for this? Thanks!

I have a couple of them of different sizes - they are simply black wooden shelves that I bought at Home Depot here in the US. You could probably find them at most home improvement stores.
hey! great to see a new video from you! i have a question for you: watching your videos for some time i so that u use as controller the m-audio keystation. i need a controller for my synths (not software) and i want to know if that one is good or u have some recommendation. thx, and i'm waiting for some new videos from u! Adrian
I do not really like any of these inexpensive MIDI controllers. I bought this Keystation because it had 61 keys and no knobs or sliders... I just wanted a controller with keys and nothing else. :)
but the key touch feeling /response is good? i share your opinion about knobs or sliders, bcs i have all i need on my gear, but for different reasons (small or bad keys or just 25 keys - korg microx for example) i need to control them with something larger. thx for your answer!
Great Demo. I've been having an issue wrapping my head around software samplers. On the ropes about going hardware or software. As far as this and Kontakt, would you recommend this over Kontakt?
Software typically has more flexibility. Kontakt is really the best software sound mangler out there in many respects and it plays a broad spectrum of formats.. that said I still find NI stuff buggy at times and I've come to dislike the GUI for most of their software. Akai s3000 are going way cheap on ebay these days and they sound great. I still think I will get an MPC at some point because of this. In many ways hardware still sounds better. The Akai and Kontakt cost about the same.
am impressed, sounds reall good.

How heavy is this approximately inside the box when you get it for the first time?

@Pianoman1488 I'm sorry... I am not an expert about all the gear that's out there but I am not aware of a controller with a built-in arpeggiator.

@keybdwizrd Thanks anyway!

I was wondering where did you get the black board that's supporting the Fantom XR & what's it's size? (I'm looking for one of those for my modules)

The feeling of the keyboard is mediocre. It is not as good as you'll find on a nice workstation synth like a Motif or Fantom.

Sorry, but I have no experience with Kontakt. I basically went with MachFive because it is made by MOTU, and I use Digital Performer.

Kontakt is a good place to start for a broad spectrum of instruments.

Kontakt quite good. Covers most instrument samples. Good luck with trying to get any Tech support with N.I!!!

Nice! Is it a Roland XR Rack you got there to? If that's it, how do you think it works? =)

Yes, it's a Fantom XR - I like it - I've made a dozen demo videos of it, which are here on YouTube.
