O.o I love this song...hell I love this movie...such a great movie...I wish it could be like this...I'd actually give anything to have a world so pure..
I know what you mean and not to be like the toxic jungles from Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (aka Warriors of the Wind) or Avatar but a world like Ferngully or Princess Mononoke.
@Johnlindsey289 For the love of whatever diety you worship, dont put Warriors of the Wind as an aka with Nausicaa. When you cut and butcher something that much, it's not the same.
You remember that dub of Nausicaa as a kid too? that was my childhood favorite 25 years ago when i was 4 when i rented it on video and loved it, i even had it on video that year when my parents bought it for me when i asked for it and even made myself a second copy taped off HBO and a third copy when i was 10 from a used copy at one of my city's video stores. I didn't know at the time it was a crude edit until i saw the uncut fansub tape in high school's anime club
@Johnlindsey289 Yup, I do. Nasucaa is my fave Ghibli movie. I saw it subbed a long time ago then a friend recommended I watch an "awesome" show (WotW). I wanted to cry.
Does Ferngully remind you of Nausicaa at times? i think the filmmakers were inspired as there are some similarities of environmentalist animated fantasy. Even Avatar was inspired by both Ferngully and Nausicaa including Totoro, Castle in The Sky, Princess Mononoke, Pom Poko and Last of the Mohicans
@Johnlindsey289 Isn't it amazing how advanced was the story of Nausicaa. The writer must have been very ecologically conscious.Because that was time of big industrialization and people weren't much aware about the damage they did to the environment. Also my favorite element in it is man making emotional and spiritual link with nature,co-living with it.Because even in the movie people were presented to be afraid of nature,as it is today. And it shows that we shouldn't because we have always....
does Avatar remind you of Nausicaa, Ferngully, Last of the Mohicans, Heavy Metal, dune, Star Wars, Star trek 6 The Undiscovered Country, Lawrence of Arabia, Fantastic Planet, Lightyears 9aka Gandahar) and Willow combined? same themes like those.
@Johnlindsey289 Yes.Thats the reason i wasn't in the group that was getting heart attacks ,when watching the Avatar.IT was because i have already watched in so many movies, cartoons, and books. So when watched,i wasn't much impressed James cameron's unique master peace that took 14 to think of.I was getting the "bad eye" from many people ,if you know what i mean. But dont get me wrong i love these type of stories, and i know every single one you mentioned and more.Btw i forgot the name of Gandahar
@Johnlindsey289 Because we have always been and always be part of nature and the universe. For some sad reason people today and since way back are acting like they are not part of this world.LIke we are anti-matter.People must find that link that connects us to the force of live(you can call it what u want).Otherwise we are lost cause.
@ultimask8er We had that world but we destroyed it.That's the whole point of this movie.Even though the ending of it shows a sort of hope for saving the nature world.Sadly this movie haven't touched much people. And Soon there will be no nature at all.You know i believe people could have evolved and co-live with nature at the same time, rather than just evolving in a industrial monster, that is ironically destroying its own home.
@elmando5-Dude totally. Any kid who didn't grow up with Raffi had a very sheltered childhood. I still have a bunch of Raffi cassette tapes somewhere in my basement.

@Johnlindsey289 Kinda. Like a prequel to it, if Zack doesn't succeed. I never saw Avatar (yes way behind).

Anybody who was born in the 80's grew up with Raffi's music. I know I did, his music was the soundtrack to my preschool education.
