  • I don't have a Phillips screwdriver

  • @dolour We carry them at DirectFix com and free shipping for USA orders.

  • Awsome! I made it but now my cam doesn't work... What happened or what should i do?

  • @yosoylegend7 You missed the connection for the camera. It can be a little tricky.

  • i dont know what happend but after screen replacement the is white!!!!

  • @daligeris go through our webpage and contact our customer service department. We will do our best to help you with this. The first suggestion is check all the cables to make sure they are connected correctly. That has fixed this issue many times in the past.

  • Awesome! Thanks so much. You literally saved my life.

  • Great, thorough tutorial. Looks simple enough. Definitely will be referring to this video when I replace my iPhone's housing.

  • Is it possible to replace the camera on a 3G with a 2.0 to a 3.15 from the 3GS? Thanks ! By the way I subscribed to your channel and liked.

  • @brotdw2 Sorry you can not do that.

  • is it possible to replace the SIM CARD part? the 3 little prongs that touch the sim card 1 of the prongs is boken on my iphone..can this be fixed??

  • @scottcarratt It is possible but extremely difficult to do. I do not recommend it.

  • Great vid! Except it doesn't show how to put it back step by step, because it's obvious that it is how you took it off the same way

  • @genesisinoa Take a look at our other videos we have one that shows you how to put it back together step by step.

  • wow it;s my first time 2 see iphome get opened ! thx

  • @varg1993 No problem and be sure to take a look at our other videos.

  • @DODGEMINIVAN2009 Sorry no. We use it in house. Thanks for asking.

  • Will the iphone 3gs screen work on the iphone 3g or vise-versa?

  • @OpinionativeReviewer No they will not work cross models. You must order the correct part for your model.

  • @OpinionativeReviewer thank you

  • After I dropped my iphone , my lcd and glass were damaged and I had some scrathes on my backcover , so I ordered all the 3 items on ebay and after I put it all back together it's not working. No response at all. My PC doesn't even recognize my iPhone. I measured my battery and it was 2.8 V. I know it's hard to help but all idea's are welcome because i have no idea what to do !

  • @ThomasvRiet The first problem was buying the parts on ebay. Not to get into a long story but the parts we sell are much higher quality than what you get on ebay & we will assist you in any trouble you have. We get many people that email us about parts having trouble that they bought from ebay. Good luck on someone from ebay helping you or getting replacement parts for bad ones. Ok I will get off the soap box now. Email us via our webpage we will try and help you out. DirectFix-com

  • @ThomasvRiet Did you ever fix your phone?

  • pretty cool and easy to follow!

  • What do i do if i cannot remove the sim tray? Please help!

  • @Yellowmailer Goto DirectFix com and email our customer service department. We will try and help you the best we can. We also offer repair services.

  • What do I replace if my screen won't light up I can see everything it is just barley bright enough to see.

  • @Cuhprez If you can see any of the apps at all then it sounds like you just need a new LCD Part# IP-2212. If you can not see any then a complete screen Part# IP-2164 at DirectFix com

  • @pdaparts My phone has had water damage but the phone is working fine now, the only problem is i can see the screen but the backlight has stopped working so its a dull black contrast. What do I need to replace? Or so I need to clean something?

  • @mizneeq This is a tricky one because even if you replace the correct part you might have issues since there was water damage. If the backlight is gone and the touch works then you just need a LCD replaced. Part # IP-2212 at DirectFix com. But I must warn you that this might not fix it if some parts have gone bad on the motherboard.

  • @TMLBond Take a look at our other videos for the directions on the touch screen replacement.

  • you forgot to mention taking the tape off of the sides of the screen before you try to remove it. broken LCD . thanks...

  • @gregallenphoto Some revisions of the screen do not have tape. Have a nice day.

  • Thanks alot mate, this was really really usefull

  • if the screen turns on white does that mean the LCD is broken ?

  • @pmoney011 Most of the time that does mean a bad LCD.

  • ok now how do you put the new screen back on???? wow you made me take it off for nothing...

  • @ImportKilla89 Actually if you check our other videos we have direction on how to put it back together.

  • @ImportKilla89 the same way you took it off just in reverse order?

  • @ImportKilla89 Reverse the video?

  • I love you guys for this vid. You have no

    Idea how

Much money n trouble you saved me

  • 2nd time replacing my screen. thanks again for the vid!

  • ok so how do we put it back together

  • @UNKNOW7V It is a FREE video just follow the Step in Reverse...

  • @UNKNOW7V exactly

Can't believe Apple makes battery replacement so complicated!!!!1

  • is it possible to fix a 2g cracked screen

  • Yes, Take a look at our iPhone 2G Video.

    Everything has to get out?

  • We just posted the video yesterday on how to replace the back housing.

  • if you remove them 1,2,&3 do u connect them backwards or 1,2,&3 again?

  • You connect them back 3,2 &1. Watch the reassembly video that we made.

  • can i use a iphone 3g lcd for 3gs iphone

  • Sorry no.

  • good ;p

  • when you are putting the screen and digitizer back on what order do you put the wires back on?

  • Yes, you replace the cables #3, #2 & #1 when you put them back. Watch the Reassembly video we have for this repair in our other video area.

  • I have a broken screen. How much do you think it will be too fix ?

  • It will depend on the part you need. It can run anywhere from $30 to $40 for the part at DirectFix com

  • This videos is amazing, seriously. My LCD and digitizer is broken, i know what to do for that. I have a question i have come across from other users. My speakers only play aloud when someone is calling me or during a voice memo but not for anything else. Yes i have tried the headphone unplugging tactic. What should i do?

  • Can some-one please tell me what cables 1, 2 & 3 specifically do. Eg. cable 3= touch screen response..

    Thanks

  • Yes here is the answer:

Cable Labeled #1: Just the LCD Display

Cable Labeled #2: Just the Touch Panel/Touch Screen

Cable Labeled #3: Handles the sensor and the earpiece.

  • I dropped my phone and the screen completely went white. It has all the functionality because i can hear the slider and the buttons working when I have the sound on. would I only need LCD Part # IP-2212?

  • From what you described yes an IP-2212 at DirectFix com should solve the problem.

  • I have an iPhone with dead pixels and lines across the screen. If I were to get this, would there be no more dead pixels?

  • If your only issue is dead pixels then just and LCD Part # IP-2212 from DirectFix com will do the job.

  • i'm looking to buy a used iphone 3g but alot of prospects have scratches on the back plastic cover.....how would i replace just that?

  • No problem. We carry the back plastic cases at DirectFix com

  • the top of the phone is the Digitizer right?

and the lcd is the black object

correct me before i make a purchase.

  • How to tell which Screen part you need for the iPhone 3G

    - LCD Only: If the image under the glass is broken and the touch panel is NOT then you only need an LCD.

    - Touch Panel aka Digitizer: If the top touch panel or aka glass top is cracked or broken but the image under it is fine then you only need the Touch Panel.

    - Complete Screen with Touch Panel and LCD: If the top touch panel is broken and the lcd image is either black liquid or cracked you need a complete screen

  • when u connect the cable back do u put it back in that order like 1,2, and 3 or backward 3,2, and 1?

  • Yes, when you put it back together you go 3, 2, 1. Take a look at the reassembly video we did in HD.

  • Thanks

  • I have a 3G with a cracked/broken screen, yet it remains full functions and the LCD screen looks fine. Could you tell me if I need the IP-2342 or the IP-2213? Thanks for these videos!

  • Either will work. The IP-2213 is just the touch panel. It is cheaper but requires more work to install. The IP-2342 is already in the frame and requires less work but cost more. Your choice.

  • Excellent how-to! The vid quality is vastly improved over the v1 iPhone vid. I suspect the 3gs vid to be 1080p lol. I have a 3g with shattered glass but retains full function. What will I need to order? Also, do the exterior screws show wear after the work and need to be replaced?

  • The screws will be fine after the repair. From your description you will need either an IP-2213 or an IP-2342 from DirectFix(dot)com. They both will do the same job but one is less work and cost more. Your choice.

  • how much costs the battery for the 3gs?

  • For a price on the 3GS Battery Goto DirectFix com and look up part number IP-2323.

  • i wonder why cuz i saw all the flex cables and they all look the same

  • Hi I have a Iphone 3g and I have a bubble under the glass. Is it only the glass I need to replace or I need to replace the digitizer in order to remove the bubble? Thanks!!!

  • Sounds like you need just the digitizer from the description you gave. You can get the part at PDAparts(dot)com

  • my backlight went out. what part can i replace to fix that?

  • You need a complete screen. Goto pdaparts(dot)com and look up part number IP-2085

  • I cracketd the glass and tried to change it (IP-2213). I think i was a bit rough by taking the lcd off the touch panel (glass). Now i have a big black dot on my lcd and the rest is all white. I think i have to change the whole screen IP-2164. Or is it okay just to change the lcd? IP-2212

  • You should only have to replace the LCD part number IP-2212

  • ive only cracked the the glass thing everything else works is this just the touch panel ?

  • Yes you are correct. Goto PDAparts(dot)com and search part number IP-2213

  • I cracked my iPhone's glass, but everything still works, then I only need to get a touch panel, right? IP-2213?

  • Yes you are correct. Goto PDAparts(dot)com and search part number IP-2213

  • I do not know what part I need, the top layer of the glass next to the button on the black part of the phone has cracked. The screen works and the phone still functions normally. What part do I need?

  • You need an iPhone 3G Digitizer. Goto PDAparts(dot)com and take a look at part number IP-2213

  • i cracked only my glass, my digitizer/touchscreen still works, can i buy just a glass lens and replace it or do i need a new digigter as well

  • If I am reading this correctly you are refering to the digitizer which is the glass lens. They come as on part. Goto PDAparts(dot)com and look at part number IP-2213

Also, my iphone screen is working fine, its just smashed, do I only need to purchase the glass part?

  • Easy question. The cables are numbered so but them back on in reverse numbers. All parts we carry are on PDAparts(dot)com.

  • I just got the 3g, I immediately subscribed.. juuust incase I have a mishap one of these days. Thanks for being an insurance policy of sorts.

  • good stuff if any thing happens cracked screen on my 3g i know where to go!!!

  • when are u guys getting iphone 3g touch screen aka digitazer

    i need one badly

  • Soon. We are working on it every day trying to get them. Not easy when there is a shortage of parts and high demand.

  • No it will not work.

  • i see double sided tape where the apple logo on the back should be ? is the chrome apple logo removeable at all ?

  • No I do not think you can remove it. I will need to check again to make sure.

  • Do you guys carry the Chrome bezel for the 3g phone?

  • Sorry not at this time.

  • thank you

  • do you have the screen kits in stock yet? my glass shattered after owning it 24 hours :(

  • We have the LCD's in stock but not the touch panels. We hope to have them soon please add your name to the wait list so you will get an email when they arrive. pdaparts(dot)com

  • I just ordered the LCD screen from you guys. How much will the touch panel cost??

  • Not sure yet. We have not received a cost from the vendor yet.

  • Are they OEM parts?

  • YES. We only carry OEM parts for the iPhone & iPhone 3G at pdaparts(dot)com

  • The glass on my 3g is cracked but everything else works fine. What do I need to buy to fix this? Digitizer and glass screen or just glass screen? Help!

  • You will need a touch panel but BE CAREFUL. There are people selling the touch panel and it has to have the plastic frame, home button and earpiece. Refer to our picture on our webpage at pdaparts(dot)com

  • Hey PDA Parts...

Why does those other touch screens (like the ones on eBay from China) have to have the plastic frame, home button and earpiece??? Can't you just take those parts from your broken screen and apply them to the new one?

  • Maybe the earpiece but the plastic frame is glued and sealed to the front glass and the home button is in between the glass and plastic frame.

  • If anyone breaks their touch panel, I would order the entire touch panel assembly. I dropped my iPhone less than 24 hours after buying it and cracked the glass screen. I opened my phone to see if the "glass screen" I ordered on eBay would work and I couldn't see how it would be possible to swap the broken glass screen with the new one. The best and only route to take is to order the complete touch panel assembly.
