Always thought he looked like testicle skin. And shit, anyone skilled enough to best Ryu with one arm would also most likely knock Akuma back to 1994..
ORO was born in Japan. In Japan, he was a martial arts instructor. Then he moved to Brazil. In Brazil, life wasn't going well, so he moved to the mountains, became a hermit, and mastered Senjutsu. Got the info from the "Street Fighter Wiki".
Alex: "Then there's Oro. He managed to beat Ryu in the finals, but Ryu got the crowd chanting 'Old Man McScrotum Face.' That was very poor sportsmanship in my opinion."
The Oro character is a difficult to understand. Sure he's supposed frickin awesome but his juggle options and his learning curve is a bit different from everyone else. That doesn't mean he can't have one of the best songs in the game! god bless Hideki Okugawa. He did good in 2nd impact music. better than the rest of them I think
I like that Oro is an old master type from Brazil..not Japan, China or any stereotypical place. The Street Fighter III series is so fresh and progressive.
@planetuoza yeah white hair elena and blue-eyed Dudley keep me up at night. But Elena visits the world and knows Japanese--how many Kenyans can do that. Plus Dudley is like th most respectable black(maybe) character in all of Street Fighter: See? Progressive.
@Afrowasi: Well, I'm sure many Kenyans have travelled and learned different languages other than their native ones. Elena is not really progressive b/c she is pretty much the stereotype of the pan-African 'Tribal Princess', which discredits actual African, or rather Kenyan, realities... Dudley, I don't know; I think the SFIV artwork kind of shows he's Caucasian (now). I'm not saying Street Fighter (3) is 'bad', b/c it's not, but... I think it's a stretch to say it's 'progressive'.
@cymekpraetorian Yeah dude your right I checked Street Fighter wiki. Oh well, at least he is an adventurous character design.Helio Gracie (as some have pointed out )
@Afrowasi actually, hes meant to be of japanese decent...but he's pretty much represented as being brazilian that i'll stick with that; much like ken is meant to be a quater japanese as well :/
@egg64 Yeah Capcom should probably split the series: Like "Street Fighter Classic-continues the beloved characters and gameplay from street fighter II // and another series Street Fighter Future-that is innovative and new with new characters. Think it would make both camps happy--I really do understand that a lot of people think Street Fighter Super Turbo is perfect while other want new stuff, so this could be a good solution.
@Morrowspawn Yeah your right; meaning Third Strike isn't as fresh as I thought since he is still from Japan. But, Capcom actually designed Oro from a real Brazilian Hélio Gracie (founded w/brother "Gracie Jiu-Jitsu" martial arts), which is still fresh (design wise) instead of the well worn cliche Japanese and Chinese "old master" types
@Afrowasi Yeah but no... Oro was born in japan and when he was still "young" his friend took him to Brazil with him, where he grew old and mastered his immortal martial art.
@megafiremario12volt True, True. Still like that his stage is in Brazil though. It's weird but I also get the feeling that in the tournament he wasn't even really trying...
@Chijiru yeah he was definitely holding back, putting his arm away so he doesn't kill anyone. I wonder how overpowered Oro would be if capcom let him use both of his arms
well he binds one hamd durign fighting so that he doesnt kill his enemy. he has complete mastery and control over his ki and in theory could destroy the world or the universe if he decided to
oro is stronger than akuma. yeah i said it, if you think about it . he only uses one arm and he really holds back his real power and if he was young and didn't hold back even shin akuma and shin bison would get there asses kicked.
The only weakness Oro seems to have is time. He's almost at the end of his obscenely prolonged life and is already out searching for a suitable heir to his power. Akuma, however, is still training hard and improving constantly developing new (literally) earth shattering moves. Soon, Akuma will be uncontested in power...only Ryu seems to hold enough potential to face him.
yes but akuma also holds back. He doesnt use his shin form to start the fight. Akuma can definitely beat oro with one arm and oro can beat akuma with 2 arms but shin akuma will kill oro with both arms
He's a 150+ year old hermit who beats his opponents with one arm tied down so he doesn't accidentally kill them. What could possibly make Blanka anywhere near that badass?
That turtle with the eyes of a killer, and his badass walk... Screw chun li, that turtle is top tier.
