  • My very first guitar (in about 1962) was a Gretsch Streamliner. At the time I hated it, because Dick Dale was my hero and I wanted a Fender solidbody. Surf music was all the rage at my junior high school (I was 13) and nobody wanted that big Gretsch in the band.

Now I know it was a nice guitar, but I sure didn't like it then.

  • @michaelnel I guess they were the lower priced gretsch guitar available back then and they didn't have the PR of the Chet Atkins models. Kids are funny, I wanted (and eventually got) a Tele for my first "real" guitar. This guitar came to me through an in-law and no one wanted it! I don't use it a lot but "it's family" now. My son brings it to the gig every so often. Thanks for the note...

  • hi, just wanted to say i really enjoy your playing. you've really got the fingerstyle thing down. i'm currently trying to learn it. you're an inspiration, thanks!

  • @revbrodiddley ... Thank you. When I started that's what I really wanted to do and I feel like I don't do that style enough...

  • That's a very sweet, mellow version of Freight Train you do here, there's a certain warmth to your playing.

  • i am stunned to see another vintage music man...

    just because ive got a 212, not a 210.
