@HipHopcheerleader You will need the dark brown silicone pigment for simulateing african american flesh tone. Deadener is added to soften Gel-10 but is mainly used in the casting process not in build-ups like this.

@bigbadwolf2361 Cream makeup will work ok but it doesn't really stick to the silicone and it will be easy to wipe off.

But one question, On an average mask how much does this all cast including the plaster head mold, i dont think i would like to try and mold my own face. SUFFOCATE. wait one more quesiton, on your plaster release can u use cooking oil?

@HazyConceptionsMedia A kit like the one used here is ~$20. A mask can cost anywhere from $50-$250. Just depends on how elaborate you want to be. Have not tried cooking oil. Don't know what that would do.

@makeupbygloria Acrylic paint will not work. Some oil paints work and others will inhibit the cure. Run a small test 1st to see.

@draftman12 It would get stuck in your eyebrows. If you rub vaseline in your eyebrows 1st you can keep that from happening.

You said, that you always use blood gel over silicone, because it wouldn't bead up. I have Hawg's blood Thick&Scabby and it does bead up. Should I order the original formula or am I doing anything wrong?

I'm attempting to recreate the makeup worn by Linda Blair in the Exorcist. I'm seriously considering buying Gel-10 in order to make the wounds on her face. Do you think it would be a good substance for me to use or do you think there's something that could work better? I'd just like to make sure before I purchase it.

It is great for making small and large cuts and gashes. How well it works for you will depend on how much time and effort you put into learning the material.

Yes, but as with any material used on the skin run a small test 1st to check for any allergies.

A is translucent in the cut kit. B is flesh colored. A and B are both translucent in the advanced kit to aford you more color options.

You know making a real cut but not really on your skin making a real cut in a piece of latex already you previously blended to your skin then slap it on I have seen one guy do it with a tube inside to spout fake blood.

if you are trying to remove the silicone from your arm, then cut it, then reapply it i'm not sure it would blend well when reapplied.

you could fix the tube to your arm with tape or something then put the silicone over it, then carefully cut the silicone with cuticle scissors maybe. then take the tape away and pump blood through.

When you open the bottle to get some gel-10 do oyu have to use it all or it will dry or can you use some and the rest in the bottle wont dry up.

Gel-10 does not dry out. It should be kept closed to keep out contaminates but the components do not air dry.

Get the pigments for silicone. The urethane colors (or polycolors) won't disperse in silicone.

When we lifecast with this silicone we use Vaseline to keep it from sticking. For mask making you would want to make the mask on a wig head.

After you initially apply the cut to your arm or were ever, is there any specified drying time to makes sure blood and silicone doesn't get on you shirt or pants when you let your arm down?

Even when the blood dries is may still smear and get on your clothes. Wear clothes that can get bloody.

Gel-10 is fantastic! BITY Mold Supply is an amazing company!! The customer service people are awesome! Very friendly people!!

Also if you carefully peel off a cut or what ever you make you can reuse that same cut! Just mix a small amount of the gel-10 to use as "glue" and you can blend the thin edges right in!! I have alot of zombie wounds and knarly gashes i keep for halloween and movies that I make!

Good question. I think that took about 1/2 ounce. So that would make 14-16 cuts if you were very careful.
