While injured workers and their family's go without HELP, due to the massive corruption at all workers comp boards all across Canada, Compensation Employees get well paid to screw injured and disabled workers out of any HELP. My childrens lives totally disrupted, forced to quit sports programs, or any programs that cost money, due to DENIAL of CLAIM; Millions of Dollars are in the workers compensation surplus bank account,which are denied to injured workers and family's; We need a REVOLUTION.
On one hand they have employers hollering to keep premiums down while on the other are claimants looking for deserved support.
In between is a bureaucracy gobbling resources like there's no tomorrow. This is unsustainable.
Like caring, responsible parents, companies must step up and accept their role in employee's recovery. No one should or can care more about the welfare of these loyal supporters than them. It's the least companies should do.

WorkSafe BC gives my husband a meer $566.00 per month for a pension, even thought the goverment of canada see's him a 100% disabled,and wrote off over $9,000 because the goverment has no way of reclaiming their money.
WorkSafe BC paid my husband just $15,300 for 2008.... before his injury he made + $90,000 a year.... we have three children,they are amoung those counted here today :(
I'm now disabled & can no longer work here in BC. Even with the benefit of subsidized housing, my Disability income falls far short of being able to maintain wellness. I live with chronic illness & pain 24/7 yet languish on waiting lists, can't get in to see an MD. BC is an unfriendly, shallow place where the poor are socially ostracized. I don't have friends here. I volunteer at the Food Bank 2 days/wk which helps me feel less useless. I can't manage alone; with a child it would be impossible.
There are a lot of villains who are contributing to the life-destroying discrimination against the poor in this province. CVAP is another agency which discriminates against some of the most vulnerable citizens of all - poor & disabled crime victims. Bless you & your family as the holidays approach. I hope you receive a Christmas miracle - that's probably what you'll need to make it through the squeeze this province is putting on us. Dear Lord! This is CANADA! Where did our human rights go?
