I've seen this happen loads of times when I used to do golf stream fishing trips. The sharks are attracted to the boat by the chum line caused by catching large amounts of fish then they circle the boat eating the hocked fish. Makes for an easy meal ^^

Until you have see a shark feeding frenzy and realize those sailors were in the water for 4+1/2 days it got to be allot. I think its 500 because they had no protection. With the increase of the human population and the fact so many go swimming + scuba diving sharks have a discovered people are easy to eat. Watch the Australian movie called "Reef" based on a true story were a Great White stalked 5 people whose boat sunk + over 3 day period it picked them off one at a time except for the last one who made it to rock formation.
