Battlefield 1942 mod: Desert Combat, skills with apache

Not That good. You take too long lining up on targets and you need to put your cross-hair over a target to see if its a friendly? (minimap?) You fly too low and slow, and if i was in another Helicopter of jet you'd be shot down in seconds.

My recommendation for BF aircrafts: Use a trackball, it's perfect for that.

yeah... I would destroy you if you play like that... ever tried a chopper fight w/barrel rolls and killing another heli while upside down? Here's a pro tip for free: practice flying between the two pipes on alliance base w/o killing yourself.

Average helo skillz. Why did you hovercap the flag when you had a tank there to do the capping for you? Team player would have flown a permiter and covered the tank against other tanks or against infantry IMO

I used to love the realism of this game when flying a helo...I loved flying towards my base and kicking the left rudder and stopping on a dime to turn around and face the opposite way....good times

@DJmackeral I just checked the files I downloaded for desert combat (still in my downloads folder) and they appear to have a setup wizard that walks you through the process of installing them with Battlefield 1942. I'm guessing the files you download probably come with a readme.txt with instructions if needed. Just Google "Desert Combat 0.7" and download the file from one of the website that show up (got mine from Filefront). Anyways if you need a bit more help send me a message (still play DC).

Pretty standard flying imo, took a while to learn but man it rocked when you flew it properly, and yes it worked just fine with a keyboard.

My only enemy was that goddamn stinger :D

@MrBlindzsk64 yes its impossible even to fly this heli, very hard, anyway i suggest u to right-hand mouse and left-hand W to go up and A and D to ROTATE, use mouse to left to flip leftward (dont rush your mouse) and forward to flip forward... always mail me for tips hint etc...

@merlade I've mastered flaying the apache wit keyboard :D

all you need is the W,A,S,D, Arrow keys, Spacebar and Num0 to shoot.

W and S = for altitude

A and D = rotate

UP arrow = forward

DOWN arrow = backward

LEFT and RIGHT arrow = i use it for balancing the heli

Spacebar = shoot rockets

Num0 = shoot hellfire missiles

Arrowkeys plays an important role cuz you'll need it to keep your heli balanced, just dont tap the keys too hard.

@rotenburk This guy is right flying with keyboard is actually the best route to go in my opinion. and from my practice with this game i became pro with it in bf2 and bc2.

@MrBlindzsk64 no I played pro for 2 years with mouse and keyboard, and I was the static helicopter pilot for the clan. M&K is the only way to fly helo. Joysticks are for fast movers.
